Sorry, I said the thread may help lementalI don't understand it either, but you'll get more vapor and throat hit from a LR carto or higher volts, both will run a battery down quicker I've often been told I'm beyond help

This is where I get a bit lost. In the example given in that link, 6.45W can be achieved by a lower resistance coil at lower volts and also by a higher resistance coil at higher volts. I would have thought that the more volts you're needing, the quicker the battery will drain. Somebody asked a similar question in that thread but the answer didn't make sense (to me!) Now I think I'm missing part of an equation, current, and all I remember from physics is V=IR!!

If you're using VV then SR cartos are fine as you can up the voltage. On a mechanical mod then LR Cartos shouldn't burn if kept wet. If in a tank, every now and then take the tank off the mod, hold your finger over the connector end and take a couple of puffs, you should see a few air bubbles, this shows that your forcing juice into the carto Does using a higher resistance carto drain the battery more quickly due the higher voltage? I've forgotten most of my GCSE physics Every now and then I do a few blank draws and sometimes see a few bubbles pop out of the punched hole.

Since getting my X8 I've used LR Boges. Today I had to change the carto as I was getting a burnt taste after less than 2 days. Not sure what caused it, probably something burning I picked a new carto out of the box and it was SR Boge as I ordered a couple to try out. Relative silence compared to the rattlesnake that was the LR. Time will tell how I get on with it. Some say that SR cartos give a slightly improved flavour and tend to last a touch longer than LR but I've got little experience to form my own opinion on this. Which cartos do you favour and why?

Funny you should mention that as I was thinking of doing that yesterday. I'll get my IPA out now and give it a clean. Thanks

Update! I hope I'm not speaking too soon but I think it's user error (no surprise there!) Now I'm pretty sure that the occasional misfire was due to the carto not being 100% tightened on the Vamo threads. I think when I was creating a gap between the tank and Vamo, I was unscrewing the carto ever so slightly. Although the carto does normally fire when the battery is not fully screwed, I think this may have been the problem as it's been fully tight all day and no misfires so far.

how do you change the currency on fasttech's site? been looking and driving me nuts !!!! Underneath the green 'buy' button on a product page, there's a 'change currency' link. Click on that. You still have to pay in USD though.

I bought the no.3 of that range and can vouch for the quality. Much prefer it to the no.2 style tip that comes with the X8 tank. Keef and Kirsty are great to deal with too

Looks like they've fixed the glitch where multiples of the same item weren't getting discounted with that code

It's during times like this I like to bang my head on a brick wall repeatedly. By the time I've come round, the batteries are usually charged

Oh I'm not sure I replied correctly to your adapter question. The adapter I have is a 510 ego adapter which has the airflow slots. This one: www.fasttech.com/products/1284600Again, it seems to be working OK without the adapter and I'd prefer not to use it as it makes my Vamo+X8 look fugly! Looks like there's some combination of raising the tank slightly and having the carto screwed in just right that fixes it. I'll update here if I have any more issues but if you or anyone else has a brainwave, please let me know

LOL I've taken the adapter back off and seems to be firing ok for the moment. Not too sure but I think it has something to do with airflow.

Thanks. Yes I do. I've fully screwed the adapter onto the Vamo and fully screwed the Tank onto the adapter. Seems to be firing very well.
My train of thought has gone now. What does this mean?!! This wasn't happening for the first week of using the Vamo with the X8 without an adapter.
-edit- not tried anything other than the tank for the last week.

I think it's a good contact (single 18350 in mini mode). I have the gold spring and have to push the bottom cap on quite firmly when inserting the battery. There's no rattle whatsoever when it's fitted. I'd say it happens about one in every fifteen to twenty times I hit the button.

Thanks again alansi. Just sat down to watch that video and it's very informative.
One problem that I've been having for the last couple of days is when I hit the Vamo button, it doesn't always fire the carto properly. Sometimes I have to press it again before it fires and sometimes I press it and it fires intermittently during the button press. Not sure why it happens but it will happen with a freshly charged or a dying battery. I do have my tank raised a couple of mm raised from the Vamo for airflow and sometimes I can cure it temporarily by undoing the locking screw at the bottom, revolving the tank a touch, then putting the screw back in but then it will happen again after some time. I only punch one hole in the carto if that makes any difference and it was happening towards the end of my last carto and again with my fresh carto.
