I will include 10 feet of .3 kanthal and 3.2 feet of 2.0mm silica wick

Nailed it! I now have a 1.1 ohm microcoil with silica for on my mech mod and a 1.9 ohm micro coil with cotton for use on my vamo. Think I might be getting the hang of this now =D

Hey and welcome, I'm looking at getting a genesis style atty with the mesh wick myself and I've heard that the RSST is one of the best introductions to that style so that will probably be what I go for.

Brilliant news jordan....I have never tried cotton wick so you're braver than me but your coils will get better over time  Every blessing It's quite easy to do. You just need to make sure you dont dry burn it so you test the coil before putting the wick in. Also means that when your coil gets a bit gunked up you can take the wick out, dry burn off the gunk and just thread some fresh cotton through =) |

I just like the fact I can get 25metres of kanthal for a few pounds and a load of silica and have enough for months - less postie stalking which has to be a good thing.  You can do it jordan...don't let the gremlins bite ya!!! Well I've just ordered 10 meters of kanthal but in terms of wick I've decided to use cotton. Less than £1 for enough to last me a loooooooooooooooooong time,easier to thread than silica and the flavour is amazing. Yes it drinks more juice but making my own liquid saves enough money to warrant using more on a cotton wick |

dreamylittledream - for what it's worth, yes!! I love the business of recoiling and there's nothing more satisfying than vaping a homemade juice using a recoiled head - heaven! But for those of you who don't want the faff of recoiling, there are plenty of cheap alternatives which will keep you vaping and happy I have to admit even though it's taken 2 days and about a meter of kanthal. The vape on this 1 ohm coil feels so much better because I MADE IT. There's that feeling of accomplishment and pride in the fact that you are vaping on something you built. It might just be me but that's the way I feel about my coil. |

Thanks for all the input guys. I had another go at recoiling my protank with the .3 kanthal. Got it to 1 ohm and it looks quite neat and tidy. Won't fire on my Vamo but I got my kato popular 2 through the post this morning so I stuck it on there and it hits like a truck =o Clouds of vapour and a nicotine rush to go with it =D

Got some cotton wool, some silica wick and some .3 kanthal to recoil my protank heads and I can't seem to get above 1 ohm without the coil being about half a mile long with 20 million wraps! Any help would be much appreciated.

It's a 510 but it has a straight vanity ring, I know it's not exactly what you asked for but the only other option would be to pull apart and evod and turn it into a dripper. (remove the top and take out the 'chimney' on the atomiser head)
