Mrsmac - have you considered an evic? They're very pretty, and that Siam mod tube makes it look stunning. It's also small in 18350. I use to use one every day, I'm a relatively light vaper but two 18350s would last me 24 hours. Worth considering! GLWS dreamylittledream

Capella Raspberry - 10%
Capella Cheesecake - 7%
Sweetener - 1%
French vanilla deluxe - 3%
I think it'll be too fruity looking at your mix, but we will see...

don't worry about the essay Mrsmac - I never use one word when ten will do  I completely understand where you are coming from with regards to coils. I guess if you are only using RBAs, and so always making your own coils, you can be a little more confident that they are safe and secure - whereas if you are using Kanger coils, you take pot luck as to what you get. The dicodes looks great, but it's a lot of money for something that only goes to 15w. For the same money, have you considered a vapourshark DNA? It's a box mod, but it's tiny, will last longer than a 18350/18500 and seems to be very reliable and popular. Plus it goes all the way to 30w should you ever get into dripping and using lower ohms. Another option would be a second-hand Provari mini, get a good one and it will last a life time. The price is bound to come down as people upgrade to the P3... |

I've not tried the Dani or P3 (obviously!), but I like the look of both of them. However, they're not going to do anything that your zmax doesn't already do, and none of them will be as small as a mech with or without kick.
If reliability, small form factor and minimum of fuss are your main criteria, have you considered a mech without a kick in 18350 or 18500? Build your coils slightly lower, say around 1.3 - 1.4 ohms and you will have great performance throughout the life of the battery. You will learn quickly how long you can go before changing battery - it's not as daunting as it sounds, if in doubt you can always change early - and it meets all of your criteria. I only suggest it as someone who used to use a kick in everything, but stopped using it some time ago and appreciate the reduced size and smooth vape of a pure mech.

This doesn't help you much Jane, but I had all sorts of trouble with mine not wicking. The holes were too small so they restricted the flow of juice to the coil. To solve this, the following have worked for other people:
1mm silica feeders through the holes, with cotton wick through a 2mm microcoil. Don't build this with too low ohms, or it won't wick quick enough. Recommend aiming for 1.5 ohms-ish.
Mesh feeders through the holes to a fluffed up cotton microcoil.
Spheroid set-up with filler, and get rid of the coil cap completely! Can use silica or cotton for the wick.

Maybe a new thread is in order ionian to get the ideas flowing. I like the idea but implementation is going over my head so far. But I'm all for spreading the word. I've said lately that all this campaigning is pointless in my view as it targets the govt and media, maybe the statement is a bit too harsh but I really believe the target should be smokers rather than govt etc. Another reason for a new thread is we are spoiling wibble thread  Oh but hold on wibble was the inspiration for the suggestion, oh I'm lost carry on It's the same for me Greg - I've had the name in my head for months, but I don't have the contacts or time to implement something at the mo, I have a new job starting in September and a 2 month old baby. I so rarely see other vapers, it's a special occasion when I do. I get the odd stare but very few people comment. I mainly use 18350 mechs which are relatively discreet but I remember people thinking my evic was some kind of space-age wizardry.
When people do comment it's the usual - "does it work?", "how can you be sure they're safe" etc.
