I think you have been unlucky and got a dud one striker42 as I have three on the go and not a single drop inside where it is not meant to be. The spring loaded 510 pin will always be a possible problem with squonkers especially if the RDA threads right the way down which fully opens up the spring on the 510 and more chance of it leaking. It's not a problem if you get a good one though. Ask to exchange it if you can and give it another try as I love these things and think you will too with one that behaves. I do have another unit. The vendor was excellent, sent a replacement and allowed me the pleasure of keeping the faulty unit to strip it and see what was causing the problem. You do make a few valid points regarding the 510 but, what I'm about to say is not penned to cause an argument, more open debate on how things could have been so much better. If you think I'm talking shite, just tell me , I can hack it. The seal at the 510 is created by compression, the battery pushes the contact up and the RDA pushes the 510 pin down on a tiny spring, clamped between two pieces of plastic, which means the current (I think that's the terminology) passes through that spring as the positive connector. Has that spring been manufactured to serve that purpose or is it a case of, it can serve that purpose so that'll do ? Here is the Biggie for me. This was the be all and end all of squonking, at the forefront of innovation............................topfill , yup................topfill. The rest is pretty much still the same crap we've been served up in the past. Why didn't they go with a 510 system incorporating something like this Ok, I know it's a bit big, but I'm sure something of this nature could have been manufactured to be used for squonking. Side feed and a blanked bottom end whereby the only place it could leak is where the squonk hose connects to it. That could have been housed in the bottle side where any leaks would not be pouring down the bay where the board and electrics are situated. Like all these reviewer backed projects, it's all about the $ $ $. If you watch the TVC video, it only shows you what he wants you to know. At the end of the day, I was looking for something nice to replace my much loved but battered RSQ, guess I should just have bought another RSQ. I agree with you, the 510 could be so much better and leak proofed fully at very little cost.
Pretty much all those 510 squonk pins rely on a seal or o ring inside which will give up in time or be faulty from new.
I loved my RSQ's I had three which were perfect, but one was replaced from the vendor as it leaked on day one. Same place internally from the 510.
As it stands, it is luck of the draw with most squonkers and whether or not they pop a leak and it is very hit and miss.
Patent it, sell it and make the squonk world a better drier place matey
And good luck with the replacement as it's great when it works as it should

Not good matey and looks to have dumped a fair bit as well.
Take it apart and see where the leak is coming from, could only really be the tube to the 510 unless it is doing what some other bf 510's do and leak when the pin is pushed down when the attie is attached.
I have only heard of one other that had a leak and my ones are leak free so far.

I sold mine a little while ago and is a great device. Was my first squonker and the last to go including the RSQ which I really enjoyed. I only have topsides now for squonking but the Inbox is still a great choice GLWTS

The Gaia is brilliant and still have a couple myself that I use. Only one gripe is the way you adjust the airflow with threads is that juice seeps into the gap on the outside and eventually you get some on your hands, but takes a second to wipe the barrel off.
Would say it's more side/top airflow but no leaks and gives great flavor
