I will be going to the derry tomorrow, so will grab some photo's of said beer garden. If memory serves there is a single heater, but it would be chilly. There are several sections inside, so it wouldn't be a problem for us to find a nice corner somewhere. I will also ask on the vaping policy whilst I am there. If we do the derry, it is a simple bus to the university (number 4 or 44) from the train station, every 3 or 4 minutes they run, super easy! |

The Three legged mare on high petergate is a vape friendly pub. The wonkey donkey is too close to town in light of recent comments. Thinking either the deramore (good transport links but unsure on vape policy), or one of the fulford pubs, any thoughts? |

Hope you don't mind me adding a few suggestions - I may pop along to one  Having set meetings up for other events in the past- You don't want to limit it to just 3 or so people who live in York, so the main thing is wherever it is it needs to have a car park. It also needs to be a short journey away from public transport, i.e a bus stop. At this time of year it also needs to be vape friendly, in the summer a beer garden would be enough. City centre locations do not go down well as one they are more expensive, 2 a pain to get to for anyone driving, 3 weekends and city centres are fine for getting trollied but not so good for meets. Find a venue that is accessible to most, whose drinks are a reasonable price, who have a car park, are vape friendly or at least have a warm area to use, and then pick a date - any except the 29th March lol. Thanks for the tips, I will keep these in mind. I am thinking that most people who are travelling will come from leeds/bradford way so shall pick a venue that side of york. I just have to test the vaping policy, which means I have to go to the pub..... you see the things I do for you guys?  |

I was in 1331 last night, they are vape friendly.
I asked for the policy in the famous Evil Eye and was told their policy on e-cigs is "make sure you enjoy it".... pretty good policy imo.
