Just noticed this rather tidy looking device - Smok XPro M80 - wish I hadn't ordered my MVP2 now.... Don't think that! The Smok might have a little more grunt, but isn't in the same league for build quality. MVP 2s are bulletproof and even if you go on to buy a higher powered device, you'll have a great hassle-free mod as back-up. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards I really hope not, I've got one on the way. The design and build is so similar to the M65 I'd have thought it the same quality wise. muckyboy I wouldn't advise using reclaimed batteries for any vaping these days, certainly not for sub-ohming. Doesn't matter who made the laptop. As this is your first foray into sub-ohms you can't get much better than the Aspire, it'll protect you from shorts and over-discharging your battery. Great for learning with, you don't want to jump in at the deep end. The XPro M80 is a great 80Watt mod, especially for the price it is. This is despite the TC not working on it. The MVP2 is a great mod, but I feel you'll be a little let down by it, doesn't quite have the oomph for subbing below 0.8 ohms. I'm a cloud chaser myself, not through choice I just wanted flavour. But I haven't gone overboard with the kit. Just a Smok M65 with the Smok VCT tank at 0.5ohms and I'm satisfied - FULLY! Any of the available of-the-shelf sub-ohm kit will give the result you're looking for, if used in the right way. Great deal on FT for batteries atm, 4 Samsungs or 2 Samsungs, or even 2 Sonys.
Thanks for the tag Get Off My Cloud

I'd definitely go with the 18500 option and I'd opt for the 1000mAh.
My reason? You've found a 1000mAh battery rated at 15 Amps. What is the 1100mAh battery rated at? Buying 15Amps now makes more sense that buying a lower rated battery and having to upgrade later. In real world use the difference between a 1000mAh and a 1100mAh battery would be barely noticable.
And why not buy two? Have one charging while you enjoy the vape from the other?

There will only be 2 choices for the aerotank coil as 1.8 will not give enough power to satisfy. The 0.8 and 1.0 can be ruled out - the 0.8 would be around 20Watts and the 1.0 would be 16.
It'll come down to the juice you're using and your own personal taste. 1.5ohms would give roughly 10.6Watts and the 1.2 would give 13.3Watts.
These figures would be with a fully charged battery. The power will fall off from the start. What I would advise is to get one of each coil and test them to see how YOU feel about them, however the 1.2 ohm would probably be my personal choice.

If you take the kick out, you can also use the next size up battery. Great catch markm. An 18500 would be a much better option

The lower the ohms the higher the power (watts) when talking mech mods, so long as the wicking can deliver the juice. An Aerotank would be sweet at 1.4, no real need to take that any lower.
The problem you'll have when you go lower is the limits of the battery you're using. 18350s have a low mAh, but they are also somewhat puny when it comes to sub-ohm vaping - many of them you can't sub-ohm at all. If you can find the specs of your battery (true specs not vendor specs) you can work out how low you can go (ohms=volts/amps). Add about 25% to the resulting ohms for a little safety. What battery(s) are you wanting to use?
I really don't expect you to be able to go anything lower than 0.8ohms with the dripper - depends, like I said, on the battery.

If it's 'peppery' that's generally the taste of nicotine. Don't go straight to a sub-ohm setup without reducing your nic. Most of us halve it at least.
To answer your first question I generally run anything from 20 - 30Watts at 0.5 ohms.

With the 10Watt kick in you'll be somewhat limited in your choice of coils. An Aerotank Mega is much better above these 10 Watts so are you willing and knowledgeable enough to run without the kick? Best head for the combo (without kick) would be a 1.4ohm unicoil but you'll have to be confident at checking for, and dealing with shorts. You'll also need to learn how to rewick the head if you can't already. There's plenty of peeps here can help with that. The above is only MY opinion, it's what I'd do with that kit
