EFVI Daily Stats - 13/06/2014
Latest Stats last 24 hours:
Top performing countries...
1) France - 289
2) Germany - 66
3) Spain - 65
4) Denmark - 54
5) UK - 37
Others <10
Total - 557
Very poor results over the last 24 hours, the UK performing extremely badly out of the top 5 performing countries, being at the lowest point for a very long time indeed, if not an all-time low, (i'd have to check the records). Overall, a mediocre day at best. We hope that the weekend will produce far better...

6) Italy - 18

A much improved total today! (and i've had to squeeze in 2 extra places too!). This is a surprise, especially for mid-week, but let's face it, from yesterdays total it had to improve really. Hopefully, with dodo boxes now being deployed into other EU countries, and contacts being made with some of the poorer performing ones, this improvement will continue in the right direction. Looking good!

Much improved result from the previous 24hrs! Spain remaining dominant at the top, with the UK improving also. If this trend can continue, then we will be well placed to show good improvements across the board in the coming days/weeks. But lets not get ahead of ourselves, lets see what the next few days' results look like before we open the champagne. There are still dodo boxes going out to vendors, and still some great ideas coming out of EFVI HQ. Watch this space...

Well, not a lot to say really apart from it was a terrible day for signature collections yesterday. It must have been one of the worst days since the dodo campaign began. But we have to put that behind us, there should be a rise in the numbers as vendors begin to send in their figures from the end of last month. Onwards and upwards, there are bound to be slumps like this from time to time, but it's the overall picture that counts. We have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and make it a better day today. Because let's not forget, "Vaping saved us, so let's save Vaping!".

Disappointing day yesterday... first drop below 600 for a while. On a positive note, good to see Cyprus joining the fray. Hopefully the weekend will bring more people onto the streets and into vaping stores. The remainder of the 2.3 million UK vapers really do need to stand up and be counted, and the same goes for the whole of europe. If you haven't already done so, get family members, friends, acquaintances and whoever else you can think of to sign the initiative, it really does make a difference.

A very negative attitude buggritt, the evidence is all around you, all you need to do is look. News coverage turning from full on "Anti" to "Accepting", newspaper articles following the same pattern. Ash coming out with studies that show that vaping does not renormalise smoking, and that evidence of the gateway effect is near non-existent. Dr Farsalinos with his studies into ecigs that show that there is little or no carcinogens in ecig vapour, and that any evidence of passive vaping is pretty much anecdotal. Massive support across europe for EFVI, the figures increasing day by day. I feel from reading a lot of the comments on the main forums, that a lot of people don't follow what's really happening on a daily basis. A lot of what i hear is 'old news', from perhaps a few weeks ago, and that's not your fault. You all have lives to live, you can't be watching the internet 24/7, but trust me when i say that i personally, feel that things have changed significantly over the past few months, for the better.

Well, not the best day yesterday overall. A welcome return to the top 5 for Poland though, even if it was a rather modest figure... I think we need to put this one down to mid-week 'blues', we always seem to get a dip in the figures around this time of the week. A triumphant return to the top for Spain, and the UK consistently keeping it's 2nd position. The 2nd batch of dodo boxes should be starting to achieve some results fairly soon, so maybe towards the end of the month we may see a sharp rise in the UK figures at least. One to watch....

** Is the tide turning? ** With the recent 'swing' towards a more positive slant on Ecigs in the mainstream media, and with all the studies that have been released recently that have proven that vaping is not really smoking's evil twin, is the tide turning in favour of the Electronic Cigarette? Could we be standing on the edge of the new horizon, where vaping becomes an accepted part of everyday life? There are already signs that the latter is occurring all over Europe. More and more vapers are wandering the streets proudly displaying their various devices, and vaping freely with rather less raised eyebrows than there were just a few short months ago. It really does seem that the general public is becoming more accepting of the vaping community. From a vapers perspective, we have merely exchanged a highly dangerous habit for a far less risky one, much like changing from a diet full of fat and sugar, to one full of salads and sugar-free drinks. From the public's point of view, they seem to be beginning to understand what we're trying to achieve. Ultimately, with the reduction in smoking comes a reduction in cigarette butts on the streets, so cleaner footpaths, cleaner dustbins, so a reduction in waste essentially, (less cigarette butts, less cigarette packets etc). So the public are starting to see the advantages of vaping over smoking. So essentially, we are witnessing an evolution, from the harmful tobacco smoking era, to the safer, less fatal Ecig, and surely that has to come sooner rather than later...

Well, if it hadn't been for a great day for France, it would have been a very bad day yesterday. Vive' La France! Not a complete disaster looking at the total overall. The UK had a decent day coming in 2nd. Spain seem to have dropped off a little of late, and no sign of Poland who gave us a good showing over the past couple of weeks...

** NEWSFLASH ** Total number of EU signatures is about to hit the 100,000 mark! At this present moment, the official figure is 99,993 and rising! With the Dodo boxes having been distributed to other EU countries now, it seems like we're about to see a massive rise in the number of signatures. This is what we've all been waiting for, and hopefully the start of something BIG! Take heart Vapers, this fight is far from over...
