Good choice - a backup charger is always handy, but if you get on well with this kit you will also need a backup battery, so I'd get both a bit later if I was you. You will definitely need some juice, so best to buy a selection of small bottles until you find which ones you like. The clearomiser is simpler to fill than a cartomiser - you just pour some liquid in and you can see when it needs re-filling. There are a couple of videos on how to fill cartomisers and clearomisers around here somewhere

I've got a Zmax and a Sigmax and I really like them both. The Evic doesn't appeal to me personally as I don't really want it's extra facilities and the looks don't appeal either, but obviously lots of other people think differently! whats the difference between a z max and a sigmax The original Zmax was made by SMOK and very nice it is too www.timeeast.net/smok-zmax-variable-wattagevoltage-stainless-steel-p-611.htmlSigelei then produced one with pretty much the same electronics which also, confusingly, gets called the Zmax (hence Sigmax). It is fatter than the original and with a better (OLED) screen - it is the one there have been a couple of group buys on and is also very good.

The mAh is just the capacity of the battery, so quite safe to use, regardless of how high. 18650's are usually 1600mAh and upwards. Beware though that cheap batteries can wildy over state their true capacity! In a Lavatube you have to be careful of the physical dimensions of the battery as it will only take one that is 65mm long and some of the higher mAh batteries are quite a bit longer than that. Best also to stick to an IMR battery in a VV mod - AW, Panasonic, Sanyo, Efest and some others are all good makes. The Bolt is probably more flexible and you might be better getting a protected battery for that.

This is the trouble with the "new topics" facility, you find yourself in a shoes and handbags thread

I just discovered another new feature that is really good as I had to go off for a while and have just logged back in - the notification indicator. This is handy as you can see if anyone has quoted one of your posts etc.

Dave, you have just reminded me, when I came back into the forum after basic migration was complete, I had a warning message to say we had run out of allowed space for attachments So I'm guessing that's why it's not letting you upload a pic from your pC. Edit - Ah, scrub that Dave, I've just had a go at uploading an avatar from my pc & it worked fine. Yes that was the message I got - just tried it again and got the same message, so I guess it just works with avatars. I was trying to upload a picture into a post using the "add attachment" button.

My understanding is that for silica wick you can either: a)torch it as Des suggests b)boil it for 10 mins as Blakey suggests c)boil it in milk as in Perpy's suggestion If you are getting a funky taste any of these can work.
With wire, flaming it with a lighter can help, especially with Kanthal wire, as it makes it less springy and easier to use - especially with thicker wire. It also has an annealing effect and gets rid of any impurities there may be in the wire.

Beginning to find my way around - the new topics option is a great improvement Just checked and it seems you still can't upload a picture from your computer, so I assume it's still Photobucket for that? I guess this is a capacity issue? No big deal for me the look and feel of the new version is certainly a step up - congrats Chrissie!

Sounds as if you are going well sootie Well worth getting another battery and a spare charger - backups for your backups is the mantra on here! While you are at it may be worth stocking up with a few clearo type things if you like those. So long as you stick with 510 connections (which is most things) as said above, anything goes with anything. Of course some things look nicer when paired up than others
