I started at 12 only 10 days ago but have bought 6 to move on to as time goes on, not sure when that will be as 12 seems fine for the moment.

Hello all, just thought I would give an update.
Well it's been 10 days now since I quit the stinkies & began my quest. I have to say that I haven't even once thought about going back which has surprised me but I am extremely happy that vaping has been a great substitute.
Also notice that my sense of taste & smell are coming alive again & really notice how bad the smell is when I'm around some of the smokers at work!
On a positive note, my wife has now decided that she wants to jack the smokes as well so has got herself a pen style vape & is 5 days in but has had the odd 1 or 2 smokes but as I told her it's not an overnight change for everyone but to keep going & not to worry about it.
We are still trying to find favourite liquids & have bought various flavs from a few different companies so its fun trying out all the flavours.
Berry & menthol flavs seem to be the 1's to hit the spot so far but always open to trying something different.
I have also spent a fair bit of time looking on FT, GB & various other sites but so far I have resisted temptation. I know that won't last but it's fun making a wishlist of future purchases
Right just realised that I waffled far too much so will sign off for now.

Well I went to the Ecigs-Scotland store in Aberdeen yesterday lunchtime & had a good chat with 1 of the lassies & explained what I was after.Since it was my 1st device & I was looking for something simple to use so in the end I bought a Curve 2 by Tecc. It is 20W with a 1.5ohm coil & it is very similar to the istick. She let me try a few different flavours & in the I chose Redberry & liquorice & also Arctic mint.  So I have now been cig free for the last 18hrs & so far haven't even thought about having a stinkie even though my Mrs smokes but even she has been giving it a go & thinks she will get 1 in the not to distant future but I might just kindly give her mine & then I can order some new shiny stuff from the tinterweb  Thanks for all the messages so far & I'm sure I'll have lots of Q's to ask as I get further into this 'hobby' due to my addictive nature & love of all things shiney !!! |

Hi & thanks for the welcomes so far.
As a couple of you asked, I live in the north east of Scotland in Aberdeen. There appears to be a few shops so will venture into town tomorrow after reading up on some of the items suggested. I would be willing to wait for items off the tinterweb if there are significant savings to be made & at least when I view items in the shops I'll know exactly what I'm ordering.

Greetings,
I'm just away to embark on my vaping journey after having smoked 20 a day for the over 25years & I feel for the benefit of my health & bank balance I really don't want to continue on the stinkies.
I came across this site & after having lurked for a few days I just wanted to say hello & ask for some assistance in choosing my 1st set up.
I plan on going into a few of the local vape shops over the weekend as I want start this adventure sooner rather than later.
My budget is around about the £60 mark so all suggestions welcome.
I look forward to sharing my experience & gaining knowledge from you folks here
