I know this is nearly a year old but I love a good book when time permits, some of my favourites,
Alfred Wainwright "Pictorial Guides To The Fells" Impressive guide to walking in the Lake District
Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion" Debunks religions
Joe Abercrombie All his First Law books, I have always had a liking for fantasy, Joe's books are in a genre of "Grimdark" so not always a happy ending but a refreshing change, Logen Nine Fingers aka The Bloody Nine is a interesting character to say the least, these must be read chronologically but an excellent read all of them
Tolkien "The Hobbit" & "The Lord Of The Rings" Classic for a reason just a joy to read, my favourite books by far
Harry Thompson "This Thing Of Darkness" Classed as a novel but tells of the voyage of the HMS Beagle captained by Robert FitzRoy to map the south Americas and a young amateur geologist Charles Darwin, its true to the most but the fiction comes from the dialogue between characters and a few fabricated scenes, was miffed when I finished it it was that good
Terry Pratchet "Mort", "Thief Of Time", "Reaper Man" Anything by TP is good, very witty writer, always a joy to read
Patrick Rothuss "Name Of The Wind" Another fantasy book first in a trilogy, great book it even made me blubb lol and one of the few that I've read twice
