Noticed on FT that some items are Bitcoin payment only. I was looking at RBA SSOCC for Atlantis I think.
Have followed Bitcoin half heartedly over the years and had considered it all rather risky. Some disasters in the past. So, anybody been brave?

my understanding is if the device wants X ma of power at a given voltage (5V for usb) as long as the supply can provide enough or more ma then all is good so a 2a supply for an istick isnt a problem.. however when you have a device with a demand for more ma than the supply is rated for Then you can have problems as the device will try to suck more power than can be provided resulting in the supply overworking overheating and blowing/failing.. Thats how it works and is about a condition known as maximum power transfer. However, if you put a load on thats near enough a short circuit...things might go pop/flash! To prevent that the power unit must be able to detect that its delivering too much curent (ma/A). If the design is good it will stop that. In some designs that may be too late. Options then are...its just dead or it delivers some badly shaped power to your device...or too much! Your vape device does the above to the various states of your heating coil...only it does it dead quick under microprocessor (sensing) control. Those USB chargere we refer to above do recovery in an old fashioned/too late kind of way.

Never was one to get up early calnorth - had the choice of getting up for 6.30 6 days a week to do a paper round in sun, rain or snow for at most £3 a week, or just pootling round the local golf course, and diving through hedges, climbing down cliffs, and dangling over mine shafts to collect golf balls for a tenner for 100! No contest really (and yes i was a junior member so was entitled to be there too!) This happily kept me in Texan's, Curly Whirly's, Mojo's, Black Jacks and sherbert Dipdabs - and my dentist in employment yep digicig.....I got to the point of doing morning and evening p. rounds about 3 miles apart. On the Sats a 1/2 day job in wet fish shop 5 miles away. The latter did my skin good, but I really stunk on the bus when bike was busted. I once hopped school and wrote a letter for the teacher, copying my mums signature. School inspector at the door 3 weeks later...why was I doing paper rounds at my age. oops! Signature was good. Fruit Gums galore!

Looked at those they're a great idea but most seem to be 2amps or more, a little too much i thought for the Wife's I-Stick. I was also unsure so got him to make sure he got the right ones lol i did also see some of them are a max of 2a draw over the 2 ports so if 1 was drawing something with 0.5 the other port would only put out 1.5 if that makes sense. Thats about right. That might even be a regulation limit for this stuff. Some of the SMART TVs (my Samsung) show it on their USB port labels, so you know which port power feeds and which don't,

Could be split 1 Amp each or similar. But your iStick won't be troubled by that. I'd rather charge stuff by PC or Laptop though. And Screwfix bothers me..along with B&Q. but I would be!

It's bit off subject, but on radio today they said major manufacturers starting to recall Tumble Dryers, due to them catching fire, took a few peoples life getting ruined for them to realise, I know you should not leave them unattended (not got one myself) but people trust big name companies to supply goods that are not going to inferno house. Where do you go unless your an electronics expert (as some obviously are on here), you pay high prices for better quality and it all turns out same, manufacturers just paying FT prices to sell at bigger mark up. Just my thoughts !!! MP I've had 2 letters in the last 3 months...if I remember right its from Indesit and spanning about 5 yrs of tumble drier production. They want an engineer(?) to visit, inspect and perform mod. Its about fluff build up/ingression. Seems such manufactures forget from time to time how to build stuff..can include Ford in that also!

The Canton Tower in Guangzhou at Twilight - pretty and awesome! There has to be a vape clone of that somewhere (soon)?

I think it just a disclaimer to protect them selves as they use a proper battery tag welder so they should be fine to use unless some one on here knows any different?? I was under the impression that tagging them actually damages the conductive material inside the units in a thermal way, which is what makes them unsuitable for vape use, I have in the past known of a company that used to take a standard 18650 batt then put it inside a metal case with tags on (altering the dimensions) and called them 19750's to eliminate the chances of causing problems. iirc there is a way to do it with a zero ohm putty but the stuff is expensive, Alibaba se the stuff but there's only one seller and they demand a minimum order of 10kg's I don't know if its available in the UK in smaller quantities but I would doubt it. I would suggest a better option would be a different enclosure for the batteries unless your plan is to create grenades Think its DIY soldering to them thats not so good. I nearly did that for an 18650 battery backup box. Applying heat to the terminals could damage the internals. Just wondering if the welding mentioned is heat or electric? And it looks as if its post manufacture. Its a worry I have now about origins of such batts and not sure if Samsung (et al) actually produce them.
