Somebody tell me if it's good to go or if there is anything I should change before I send it : Dear Lady Liddell of Coatdyke, I am writing to you on behalf of myself and the estimated 2.8 million vapers in the UK. I'm sure you will be aware that Lord Callanan has proposed a fatal motion on article 20 of the TPD 2016. I would ask that you step forward and give him your support on this important piece of legislation. I was a smoker for thirty years until suffering a heart attack in 2011 due to tar from cigarettes completely blocking an artery. There are two reasons I am today able to write this message 1. Thanks to the skill of Dr Mehrdad Malekian, Associate medical director, consultant cardiologist and former chairperson of the board of cardiologists NHS Lanarkshire, who I'm sure you may be familiar with. 2. I stopped smoking and switched to vaping. I managed to do so as I had a choice. Under article 20 of the TPD, that freedom of choice will virtually disappear as it will reduce what will be legal under that directive by 96%. We continually hear political voices banging the drum for everybody to lead a healthier life and ease the strain on an already stretched NHS. As vapers, we have listened to those voices for a healthier Britain and chosen a safer alterative to smoking but we now have an EU ruling that will most definitely have a negative impact on health in this country. I would respectfully ask that you give this request consideration and offer support to Lord Callanan in his bid to have article 20 of the TPD vetoed. Thanks calnorth , got it now. I will be passing on my story to Baroness Liddell of Coatdyke. When you send the message striker42 it won't goto the addressee immediately. Their server system will email you a verification link after some minutes. That'll likely end up in your spam/junk box...a good place for Govt stuff generally in my view. So watch out for that and click the link contained so that it then forwards to an Admin office that then forwards to the destination office....jeeez! |

I'd say keep away from e-lite type fag lookalikes. Took me an age to get my wife off of that expensive junk.
Flavours are a problem for anybody. First timers... its enough to put them off straight away and thats way apart from fiddling with electronic devices. Keep it simple and sweet...or for flavours semi sweet perhaps?
I have my wife kitted out with 2 iStick 30W units and two Kayfuns clones (top fill tanks). Thats so she has a backup system when I'm not around to configure her out of the latest error. Getting there though and she is hooked...facing up to a Glaswegian girl is a bit tricky!
The Kayfuns are rebuildable only so you'll need the tanks mentioned above I suspect and that have ready made screw in atomisers.

The EU has forced the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) upon us (20/5/16)…with the aid of some in Govt etc. Its about limiting tobacco smoking but not banning it. It also damages vaping which is a critical way out of smoking. Tobacco needs to be banned, but they avoid that and create other problems with regard to vaping.
Matt Ridley and Martin Callanan in the HoL are moving to over turn it. Can I ask that this site shows the following link which asks people to contact any Lord in an effort to help Matt and Martin.

I suspect you have been contacted on this topic from a number of vapers. As far as I can see a good solution to a massive problem has emerged as regards smoking and is e-cigarettes in various forms. A definite gateway out of smoking and that is working for many in UK and elsewhere.
However, it is to be severely hampered by this TPD. Stupidly so in my view and yet tobacco smoking is to continue. A critical opportunity exists with vaping to substantially reduce smoking.
I am sure you are aware of Matt Ridley and Martin Callanans efforts in the HoL to explain this issue and overturn the TPD. May I and others ask that you support them. I'm pretty sure you do because its a matter of common sense.
I started smoking in the RAF at age 16...dumb stuff really! I seem to have survived well to age 72...lucky indeed. I really want to see tobacco smoking banned and which always was common sense.

Crikey...Callanan has a BSc in Electrical & Electronic Eng and worked for S&N Breweries for 12 years. However, even with Ridley/Lawson et al, I suspect there's too many awkward people (male/female) in that place too counter them. Common sense is not often apparent...not from what I've seen anyway. Too many of them have been jammed in there to disrupt the people of UK.

As mentioned by cigeliquid on the other TPD thread 10ml containers are a choking hazard. They vastly increase the risk of that by ensuring many more are produced. Thats to get round probably a lesser risk. Because of the need to handwring by certain individuals a thorough hazard analysis has not been undertaken. They really should have used H&SE for this topic which is on a national scale. International...couldn't give a toss! I've seen this elsewhere...you employ a bunch of experts and within an Executive and don't use them. |

Its a poor safety document and with such a low sample not much can be identified from it. Its a subset of Nic users..so whats the full set/population? Just says to me that about 200 or so are idiots and the majority of us have to suffer from their irresponsible ways.

Think there was a case of someone drinking vape Nic while on drugs a short while ago. Not sure if he snuffed it but was not a child/youth.
So we can well expect a few idiots to do that irrespective of warnings. Children...well, you know?
