A few days ago, I trashed one of my Vision Ego Stardusts putting it pretty much beyond use. The innards are good, but the tank doesn't seal and was fairly badly cracked. After smooching around and mulling over various options, sizing up juice bottles etc, I had a brainwave and ordered one of these (the 3ml version). I know cheaper ones can be had, but until now I haven't been interested and it was just there. Anyhoo, I built this: The Stardust DCT Franken tank

The original plan was to somehow embed the Stardust innards in the base cap, but that didn't work ou, so I just took the outer O-ring off it and put it onto the recess where the silicone grommet used to be. Pushed home, it made a good seal, but I also added a 3mm cylinder of condom prodded into the gap to give the base a bit mor grip and stability.

To seal the top, I used the battery end cap from a Rithcy Era carto. I think the soft silicone cap from the top of any carto couls also be used. Either way, you need to punch a 7mm hole in it. For that I used an old carto with the centre pin removed. Place the cap over the connector end (inside a condom if need be) and whack it with a mallet on a hard surface to chop out the perfect sized hole. Place that over the silicone cap on the stardust air tube and seat the tank top cap over it. I stood this upside down on end, and there were no leaks.

To fill, pop off the top cap and squirt in juice down the gap. Pop on the cap, add a drip tip and vape. These are the leftovers The end result isn't quite as stylish or robust as the original, but it has a bit more juice capacity, doesn't leak and it works So those Stardust innards can now be reused

Yes, sadly, it isn't circular - it's slightly D shaped. Also, it wasn't as deep as I thought, and just a tad too narrow. But hey ho, I managed to work around it
