OK, I needed to re-coil and re-wick some Vision CE3's rebuildables so I thought I'd record how I did it. OK it's not so advanced but it might help those who would like to try it. This is the same as Vivi Nova heads as well. Tools UsedScissors Watchmakers Screwdriver Straightened paperclip Lighter Tweezers (optional) Small blowtorch (optional) ConsumablesWick Resistance wire Here are the 3 coil heads, scissors, resistance wire Dis-assembled. Take the silicone top off and pull out the wicks, using the screwdriver push the bottom grommet out including the center pin. Using the removed wick as a template cut the wick (I used 3mm wick but you can double or treble up thinner wick). I used a multimeter to measure out a length of resistance wire that gave me 3 ohms. But all you need to do is use enough to give you approximately 4 turns round a coil and leaving 3cm's for the coil legs. I wound the coils, leaving the legs pointing the same way. I then used the blowtorch to heat the coil and wick, I do this as it reduces the "funky" taste on initial vapes. Push the coil legs through the middle so they protrude out the bottom of the threaded coil holder. You can see the coil legs protruding out of the bottom. Choose which leg is nearest to the threaded holder body this leg will stay to the outside. Trap leg that was nearest to the threaded holder between the body and the grommet and thread the other leg through the center hole. Push the center pin in trapping the wire between the grommet and the center pin, NOT through the center hole! Trim the protruding wire nice and flush, you do not want any spare wire hanging about that may cause a short. I use a multimeter to check that there is no dead short and to see what resistance I have ended up with, if you don't have a meter or a Provari, or a V2+ lavatube you need to be careful, you could put a few drops of liquid on the wick and try it on your battery to see if it fires up OK. Here's the 3 completed, I trimmed the wick to keep both ends the same length. The whole lot took me about 30 minutes to do.

Nice walk through that des, a picture paints a thousand words, good one. What resistance wire did you use?

Thanks for this. I use these clearos and this is something I will try for myself now that I have seen how easy it is.
Good on ya!

Great walkthrough Des. The only problem I have with re-wicking things (Penelope, Dripper, Vivis etc) is that pics make all the parts look massive, whereas in reality most of them are bleeding microscopic lol

A good walkthrough Des.I think I am correct in saying, when you insert the wick into the top of the holder you must make sure that the coil does not touch the metal sides. So the you need to wind the coil on 4 or 5 wraps pretty close together to avoid this happening.I have been checking mine with a magnifier. As oneday has mentioned these parts are very tiny.I have just ordered myself a magnified glass on a stand, which lets you have both hands free to work with,it also has a couple of small clamps that will hold small items for such things as soldering. It was not expensive, only a couple of quid from amazon.A handy thing for anyone with poor eyesight like myself.

Someone - Brian Fletch?? - was waiting delivery on one of those hands-free magnifiers a few days ago. I'd be interested in reviews of them.

Yes Frogster,I have just purchased one of these from Amazon,a great little tool for less than £3.00 including postage.Very handy for those who like to recoil and soldering very small items.A very well made piece of kit that is fully adjustable.I am very well pleased with mine.
