I was over at my dads and after looking at the colour of the liquid in my Clearomizer I thought I would try giving it a clean. He snatched it out of my hand, gave it a rinse out with Isopropyl Alcohol and then refilled it with some more and told me to let it steep. Before I left I rinsed it out and it looks brand new. Anyone else use this for Clearomizers? Seems a heck of a lot easier.

Dad said it would be fine with a good rinse out. He said using Vodka is bad because of the sugars in it or something.

AIUI IP evaporates very quickly, so it would be gone in no time once you dried it. I've been trying to buy some, but can't find any locally. Anyone buy it online? I suppose you might have to worry what it would do to the poly over time, maybe we have a chemist on here somewhere

IPA will react with plastic and cause clouding and cracking. It's used for cleaning circuit boards and electrical parts..
.Most clearos are made with clear polystyrene. Don't use.

I've been told it isn't very reactive with plastic. I see no clouding in mines and it was steeping for hours. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just doubting it especially considering in smaller quantities it's stored in plastic bottles.

My source is my experience with IPA and contact cleaners..You can also lookup the MSDS data sheet here; www.sciencelab.com/msds.php?msdsId=9924412Specifically: IPA is normally stored in polypropylene containers. Not a pleasant substance to be inhaling either. After that, it's upto you..

I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to flavours, I don't like cross contamination hot water and a cotton bud has never caused me any issues when cleaning a clearomiser, I don't see why alcohol would be needed ???

If you had seen mines it was either that or throw it in bin. I don't know what the hell happened to it. I'll let you know tomorrow if my lungs explode.

this stuff is only to be used as a cleaning agent. not to be used to soak for long periods.
swill and drain off!
