Yep, that's when the Mayan calendar ends, Camper I was quite heartened when I read somewhere yesterday that if you asked the average modern Mayan about when the M. Calendar ends, they wouldn't have a clue what you were talking about!

Thank goodness there was a happy ending. I keep thinking about what the atomic power station workers must be going thru, desperately tired and fearful but striving to prevent another, even greater, tragedy. Poor Japan scylla

O Hissie . . . I don't want to belittle the desperate plight that the poor people in Japan are enduring in any way . . . but what a story of canine love and devotion. The nuclear power workers are truly heroic in my opinion Scylla.

The news mentioned that a tiny (not harmful) amount of radiation has reached California. They are monitoring it.

All I've watched is sky news since it first happened as you just can't belive how much knock on effect this will have around the world as it will affect us all. I'm a big fan of www.zeitgeist.com and can't help think a lot of what happened was man made destruction. is anybody familiar with the date 21st December 2012 ? The tsunami was horrendous and my heart goes out to all the poor people and animals that have lost their lives. he 21st December 2012, the day the Mayan calender ends and also the day before my 50th birthday .......... how very dare they end it the day before
