Mail story taken down after mass complaints to PCC

The Mail story entitled "E-cigarettes cause more harm than smoking experts say"

Has been taken down - it is now offline, following mass complaints to the Press Complaints Commission (PCC) about the innaccurate and misleading article.

The PCC is contacting all complainants and will update them with the result of the investigation.

Damage already done and replies that refute the article now gone forever.

The writer can now go and write the same thing again in different words.

How many people will die because of that article? Because that's what it comes down to.

Remember, the PCC investigation is not over. When it is the Mail will have to publish a full retraction if the ruling goes against them.

What, you mean a tiny 2x1 box on page 11 that no one will take any notice of?

I'm not saying that it's bad this has happened, it might make some editors sit up and take notice a little (doubtful really, but you never know), but once it's published, the damage is done.

Still maybe the readers of the Daily Mail deserve all they get

I complained to the PCC too on Wednesday. Problem is as the link's been removed now, it's going to make it void.

Susannah Nutter should write a public apology in the paper and online admitting that the whole article was complete nonsense IMHO.

Did Susannah Nutter write it? I should have paid more attn. I can't find any reference to her online.

If you search for Daily Mail and ecigs, you will find 3 previous stories in the last year which say about the same thing.
