Morning all
I have decided that I am going to invest in some vaping equip and my main reason for doing so is health - chesty cough all the time, colds, etc (I am also a coeliac which is an auto immune disease so that doesn't help!). I am 28 now so hopefully if I stop smoking tobacco soon my lungs will repair themselves (is that the case if I still vape?)
When you first started, did you completely cut out tobacco? Or end up using both for a period then come to realise that vaping is a lot nicer?!
Thanks in advance

Personally, I quit smoking the day after I received my starter kit. And that was after 40 plus years as a smoker. Never looked back either since that day Since I started vaping I've had no urges whatsoever to pick up an analogue.

I have had a few since i started vaping, one week was really bad with my car so i managed a few analogs, some people quit straight away, some people do both for a while before going full time vaping and some people never fully go to vaping.
What ever feels best suited for you as you go.
Somewhere on youtube there is a vid of a guy that had an x ray before he started vaping and then after and is lungs had started repairing themselves and looked a whole lot better. Cant find it now but will have a nosey later.

Some people quit the fags immediately and never look back. Some phase out. Some continue to dual-fuel for ever. The thing is to do what suits you and not to beat yourself up if you continue to smoke a few. Count the ones you've avoided rather than the ones you smoke.

I tried the Elites first and dual-fuelled for 4 days until I got my first VP. Haven't looked back since then!

I started doing both for a couple of weeks then gradually cut down the smoking. Took a deep breath one day and stopped buying cigs. Haven't needed or wanted one since. You'll work out soon enough what's going to be the best way for you. Good luck with it

At the moment I am not really looking to vape as an aid to quit smoking, I am hoping it will help me cut down the amount of tobacco I smoke and I reckon once I start I am going to prefer vaping
The thing I think that I would struggle with giving up smoking is the actual smoking part, something in your hand whilst having a pint etc
If by vaping, I can reduce the amount of tobacco I have to the odd smoke here and there then IMO that is a good achievement - who knows, I may decide after a while that smoking analogues isn't actually that great!

I think you're spot on there. Vaping is, for me, SO much more fun and so much nicer than smoking. The wealth of flavours available alone - these things taste nice!

I had a go on my mates at the weekend (it's weird, I have been thinking about looking into it for a while and recently I keep seeing billboards advertising them, friends using them, TV adverts, etc) and he had mixed some different liquids together - tasted so good!

I've had the odd ciggie usually when booze is involved or I've been really stressed but I'm not going to beat myself up over a couple of ciggies as it's still a huge improvement compared to the 20-25 a day I smoked before. Do whatever works for you everybody is different but don't worry if you end up having the odd ciggie at least with vaping you can get back on track easily.

I myself built myself up to quitting, mid December last year i said to my partner i am quitting on the 01-01-2013 so i pre-ordered my cig alike (yeah i know a cig alike, gotta start somewhere, just wish i knew about this site before hand)...anyway the day come to using my cig alike and i loved it, then i found ECF and done some research and loads of questions and then got a Riva 1100 and OMG i was amazed. Then with more questions with great answers from Chrissie (I pestered her) i ended up with a Vamo and then found my Home AAEC and have never looked back. Have not touched a ciggy since vaping, first week was edgy but i got through it, after that it was a breeze

I cut out cigarettes as soon as I started , I have NEVER craved one in over 6 months & I have no will power The only thing I will say is do not go looking for a liquid thats identical to tobacco, LOTS of flavors out there

I am still having a few stinky cigs as well as vaping, but have cut down by more than half. I am hoping that once I find the right strength juice and flavours I love I will no longer want the stinkies.
Every time you vape instead of having a stinky is a bonus.
