Hi All,
I have just ordered the deluxe skycig kit, but now thinking this is a bad idea, after looking at different threads on here.
If i explain alittle about my habits, then i am hoping that someone can give me some advice.
I have been a smoker for 23yrs,the last 7yrs have been rolling tobacco rather than cigarettes, golden v to be precise. I smoke an average of 50grams a week/15 a day.
What is the best kit to go for? and i know i can buy the liquid also. Which sites do you recommend for both? I only want the taste of tobacco over any other flavours.
Looking forward to your advice and help, many thanks. Rich

Hello & welcome Smiffy The Skycig is over priced for what it is, but IMHO it was better you went for that rather than an e-lite as the Skycig has what is called a 510 thread fitting, which means you can buy replacement cartomisers cheaper form other vendors & there are so many good ones out there - allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/2/cigarette-liquid-vendors-discount-codesReally difficult to say what is the best kit, but a Riva or Ego style kit would help you so much more than the Skycig ciggie lookalike

hello Smiffy and welcome A lot of forum members started their vaping experience with ciggie lookalikes and very quickly progressed onto a more beneficial vaping kit. I being one of them. I quickly moved onto the Riva deluxe kit and what a difference. I think it is ok to start with and see how you go If you decide to progress don't forget the discount codes under the vendors thread

Hi smiffy 79, welcome try ry4 its a sort of caramel nutty taste it's the nearest I could find to a roll up, if I was you I would start of no lower than 18mg nicotine better 24mg you can always put the nic up or down to what suits you. Maybe get the Riva kit or Ego preferably with 2 batteries. Sorry can't think off the top of my head where from but I'm sure someone Will come along and advice you best of luck.

Hi Thanks for the advice. I bought the skycig as it was on groupon for £20 as a starter kit. I wanted something that looked vaguely like a cigarette, as its slightly less consipicuous when out in public. I appreciate thats probably not the right way to go about it, but this is my first serious attempt at quitting in a while and the feel of one of those other contraptions in my hand (some of them look rather like an implement for smoking something other than tobacco ) might just help the initial move away from smoking "proper" cigs. Hope this explains where I'm at - I don't doubt the other types are probably better and I'll probably move onto something else after a while. Thanks for the tip on the cartomisers though! Rich

Hi Smiffy from another newbie.
I followed the advice from the people here and bought the Riva 1100 kit from vapescape and have been chugging on it for the last two days and it is very good.
I had similar smoking habits to you so wanted a juice that would be a good substitute for rolling tobacco. I bought 4 Grizwalds 5ml samples (also from vapescape) "Old Holby", "Black Cat", "Caramel Tabac" & "Vanilla" and highly recommend the "Old Holby", to me the others do not have enough Tobacco taste.
The "Old Holby" isn't exactly like Old Holborn, but more like Amber Leaf to me. Saying that it has been so satisfying in taste and throat hit that I have not touched a roll up since the Riva and juice arrived yesterday morning.
My only regret was not buying a larger bottle, as I am now all vaped out of Old Holby and the others are not quite hitting the spot.
Hope that helps and good luck mate.

Smiffy welcome. I too started on Skycigs. At £20 the Skycig kit is not a bad price and it will serve as a useful backup when you move onto something 'better'. They can offer the kits at such low prices because they expect you to then be locked into their over-priced cartos. DO NOT buy any replacement cartos from them, and don't throw the used ones away. We can show you how to re-fill the ones you get with nicer liquid at a much cheaper price until you're ready to upgrade.

Welcome from me too Smiffy Sounds like you got the Sky Cig for a decent price, and the cartos can be refilled and you don't have to buy the branded Sky Cig cartos for it, so not a bad decision really good luck with it, shout if you want any more help or advice!

Welcome smiffy. Don't worry about the skycig, save it and use it as a spare device. If I've learned anything about that type of product it's not to expect any long-term performance. Use it as little as possible, then it will be of some use to you. OR, just use it 'till it's ....um....been used! then sort yourself out a nice ego/riva e-cig. I kept all my E-Lites as back-up spares for backups, sadly, they don't really work any more. I charged one up the other day and attached one of my last ever "e-tips". I'd say it produced about 2% of the vapour of a freshly charged RIVA. That's how high quality those little beauties are. NOT. It's pathetic. I wonder if skycigs are the same? Oh, surprise, surprise. www.ecigclick.co.uk/skycig-review/

Hi & welcome, Smiffy. At least you've made a start on your vaping journey, see how you get on when that arrives & if it doesn't hit the spot, at least you have been pointed in the right direction for an upgrade. Good luck & happy vaping!
