I know we've got at least one watcher here I have watched two or three series of this and have been watching the current one since the start. I record it on my cheapo Vestel PVR and skip thru it, a taste of each number is enough to judge. It never ceases to amaze me that we Brits have the brass neck to do a similar programme when our standard is so pathetic by comparison. Having said that, I get less impressed as the contestants are whittled away ??? Now I haven't got a slam-dunk winner or a slam-dunk "gosh you're good" One huge discovery = I love J-Lo She's not just a pretty face, IMO. And Simon Cowell is not missed by me, I think it's a better panel. So... Casey Abrams went tonite - he was out of place in this type of competition but I hope and expect that the exposure will bring him loadsa bookings TBH there's no Idol there for me. scylla

Scylla like you I watch every series, using series link on Sky. I love American Idol, the contestants are so much better.
This year has been fantastic, my vote's with James Durbin, he's just so multi talented. Although I think the last 6 will all have a fantastic career ahead of them.
It's no wonder that there's so much talent in the US, it's just so huge! LOL
I must admit that I love J-Lo too, she's so emotional and in tune with the contestants.

Ooooooo, how did I miss this thread! I love American Idol like Dee, missed the first series but have watched them ever since. J-Lo has been a complete revelation to me as well, really taken with her.

I was so offended that you took so long to post, Perpy - it was you I started the thread for You're quite right Dee, of course, the US is so big. Also, pop music and the American voice/accent are made for each other. I expect James to win too but I don't like him - prancing around with that tail Also, I thought it was most unfair that he got one of the best pop ballads ever this week. scylla >

I like the fact that he's a good ambassador for disability. I think his tails just a comfort thing for him, although if he's like most men ........................... he he won't go there

He's got Tourette's Scylla, that's why he keeps screwing his face up and has so many jerky movements - possibly why he looks arrogant on TV sometimes.

Thanks Dee, it does ring a bell now you tell me I'm glad I don't feel strongly about any of them - not that I'd be able to vote, but since I spent a FORTUNE supporting Matt Baker on Strictly... I can't stand the sight of him any more Go figure! scylla

What a show last night! Wow, they really are amazing. The only one dropping backwards for me now is Jacob.

Took the words right out of my mouth there Dee - I reckon Jacob to go tonight.
He's an amazing voice, but other than Gospel type songs doesn't seem to have quite found his niche.
