From the same article, PROPYLENE GLYCOL · Propylene glycol is a Humectant (attracts moisture) which can dry your throat and leave it feeling sore. PG is converted to lactic acid in the body and it's this that causes the muscle aches that some may experience from time to time

I know exactly how you feel. I take a big glass of water to bed and wake up at least twice a night. Then of course, indeed to keep getting up for a pee. I already vape 50/50. One night I woke up with my tongue stuck to the back of my front teeth!!

I've switched to high VG juice and i'm really finding that I have awful dry mouth even though i'm drinking loads of water. I'm thinking of moving to a 50/50 mix instead.

Not exactly scientific My own belief (not scientific either) is that PG I a bigger factor in causing a dry mouth I don't tend to go over and over topics I read , but at the time of reading about the effects of e juice it was mentioned in the thread/topic or whatever it was I was reading at the time that VG was the cause of dry mouth/throat and that was that, so no need to relate to it again until now, so it seems that neither of them is the 100% culprit from what info is being thrown around.

This seems to be a problem right across the Vaping World and I have now read articles on US and Australian Forums.
I have now sent away for various concoctions all made by this Biotene company and all supposed to help with generating saliva during the night.
I sleep using a CPAP machine and this probably exacerbates the situation, but there is nothing I can do about that.
In the meantime, I am sitting here drinking my bottled water with a slice of lemon in it.
One thing that does surprise me is the number of vapers who disagree over whether it is PG, VG or both that contribute to the dry mouth and/or throat.

I suppose we are all different and can only talk about our own experience. Keep us posted as to how your products are helping and perhaps keep a diary of what juice you're using to see if you can work out what is making the dry mouth worse for you

I vape all day on the Royal and then last thing at night on the Menthol/mint.

VG was well known for causing dehydration long before ecigs were invented, I am not sure if PG causes similar side effects. If you read the bottles of VG from any chemists they usually state it as one of the side effects.

The only time I have ever used VG, before using it for vaping, was when I was restoring an older Morris Minor. It is great for restoring old rubber that surrounds the windows. I wonder what old Morris Minor Rubber tastes like to vape? I must have half a ton of it in my garage!

It says - Talk to your Doctor or Pharmacist if you are dehydrated ??? Possible side effectsMost people will not have problems, but some may get some ??? I'm so pleased that I have read the label on my Boots VG and cleared this up

I have added a slice of lemon to my evenings water. I'll report back in the morning.
