Decided to give a couple of herbal drinks a go that I have heard about so ordered some dried nettles and dandelion root on ebay and I am attempting to make very simple dandelion root coffee and nettle tea. Just made some coffee by grinding up the dried root and putting some in a steeping bag (I have from tobacco steeps), 4 cups of boiling water in a pan and let the root steep for a good few minutes. I must say I am very pleasantly surprised, it is really very nice smooth drink not dissimilar to coffee. It does have a slight after taste I cannot describe but not unpleasant. I think i'll be having a cup daily from now on.
Next up is the nettle tea.

Made a Stew using fresh young Nettles picked on me Ma's land in Ireland, for her wedding feast. Folk were really enjoying it, until someone asked what the delicious peppery spinach was - once i told him he spit it back out, and the popularity of the dish suddenly dwindled LoL Nettles are a great food source, tho best picked when young and then dried preferably before June apparently) - and from a pollution free environment away from roads and power lines etc.
