I've read most of the works Mr. Banks published and I'd happily recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading fiction.

His 'Culture' series is one of the most interesting imaginary universes I have had the pleasure to be invited into.
I have read and re-read it over and over again, stunning writing, 'player of games' is one I often return to most.
I have also read through his general fiction bibliography, the wasp factory is my favourite, great book with an impressive end game, but I'm a more into sci-fi.
He will be missed.
