Welcome back Kat Go on post your pics in here (The Lounge), Exmoor pony sounds good for a start Jerry & MM, I'm talking it over with the moderators re an "Outside" area, but just can't really see the need for it as we already have both this area, The Lounge, & the separate Members only section for any chat/social group type topics Ok Chrissie that sound logical.

Daphne Du Maurier's gaff (residence Jerry ) in Fowey. Absolutely wonderful place, Fowey. Have to admit though, I am glad to be back in Suffolk, with it's picterskew rolling hillocks. I reckon my little pack Hoss would say "Put me back on the blerdy Hossbox," if I took her to Cornwall. Chrissie, I am going to make cheesey chips tomorrow! yum

Cheesy chips are yum indeedy Talking of Pack Horses.... The pub at the start of the lane I live down is called the Packhorse because wool was processed in a building at one end of the lane & transferred to another building next to the Inn to be spun

The Villiage of Dunster was a 12th century sea port. Now it is 2 miles from the sea. It was home to the royalists during the civil war and besieged by the BOO HISS cromwellians. It belonged to the Luttrell family for 600 years, before being handed over to the national trust.
It was great having a tour around the inside of the castle, it was very dark, and flash photography was not allowed.
In one of the bedrooms, there is a secret panel beside the four poster bed, that leads to a secret passage to the keep.
I lost myself in the history of the place!

Kat, we Americans find it hard to comprehend anything before the 17th century. Even our 19th century cemeteries are considered historical. Believe it or not, I'm quite familiar with the English Civil War. Oliver Cromwell and the Parliamentarians versus King Charles I and the royalists.
