Some of my memories of a drunken nature are of Spud The Piper (Calum Fraser) playing pop tunes heading home drunk from the pub (as in he was drunk too). A rare talent that man, also makes a wad of cash doing the international wedding scene. He lived not far from me also and played sometimes in the hotel I worked at, not the pop tunes though.

Yes I agree ,, nothing beats the sound of a good solo piper , unless its a full on drum corps Remember once when the mass band got held up in town ( somewhere in Scotland ) and one of the bands struck up with we will rock you , absolutely brilliant , will it set a few more bands off doing the same thing, fantastic day out.

I can't remember, but I'm sure I saw a video of him giving a lecture in which he explains why.... ... But why do I get the feeling your reason is a) funnier and b) ruder?

I want to know where all the young, cute female band members have been hiding all these years. . . I'm in the Highlands too, and the Pipe bands locally have lots of Girlies in them. The Pipe Major used to live in my Street, until sadly he died. The band he led would often play in this street, marching up and down. It is a small street in a very small village, as you can imagine the sound was awesome. Jag. (No wonder the bagpipes frightened German Troops.)
