As above, which batteries are best for mech mods? I'm looking for 18650's, does it have to be IMR or protected, flat top or button top?
Some advice would be great, thanks.

For a mechanical mod you should use protected batteries.

Sorry this may sound silly but when it comes to batteries i buy from a reputable vendor not ebay as there are way to many copies out there with batteries and imo safety comes first when it comes to batteries. They maybe fine i just prefer to buy from vendors even if it costs more, to me spending a few pennies more is worth it if it puts my mind at rest.

I use flat or nipple top, they all seem to work. Nipple are probably the safer bet though. And IMR work best IMO. Ecoluxshop on Ebay sell genuine stuff, I've used them before, but Torchy also sells directly at a discount to his Ebay prices. Through here. ukvapers.org/Forum-TorchythebatteryboyHope the link is allowed.

Might get shot down here, but i use unprotected batteries without a kick or any fuse or anything, I know when my batteries are lw because the cape drops off, if something shorts i can immediately tell and pull the battery, safe chemistry batteries are best, AW IMR's or Efest etc. there safer because they shouldn't explode, and prevents thermal runaway.
