I often want to search for a post I've read previously and rather than pleading for info I want to use the search function. On the face of it, the functionality is brilliant but the problem is it simply doesn't work. As an example, I typed "Kayfun 2.1" in the search box. Now I know that this has been mentioned umpteen times. And yet Proboards comes up with 'no results'. I've been keen to write a tutorial on how to use the search function effectively but there's just no point when it won't even search properly

I agree OneDay that the Proboards search function isn't that good

OneDay I suggest next time you type "Kayfun 2.1 aaec" into google. Works a treat.

I hope that OneDay it will work correctly ! (I was about to copy paste the whole Martin Luther King speech, replacing all the "one day" with your user link OneDay! In the end I was more moderate )

Know what else I hate? That it traps the Alt+D key combination. Makes using it on anything but a Mac a pain.

You could put kayfun 2.1 into the 'with the phrase' field, it just came up with 67 pages of results. Although it finds anything with kayfun, not only kayfun 2.1……..

Ctrl+D is bookmark. Alt+D is set focus to address bar (Cmd+L on the Mac). Different things.

Google is great for site searches, just type into google search term then site: followed by web site address (no need for http:// or www. ) for example OneDay wanted to look for kayfun 2.1 so in google search box you would type kayfun 2.1 site:allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com (works on any web site) here is said example
