No jumping around. 1.4ohms clutchi g at straws but have you tried a higher ohms coil ? Maybe it can't handle 1.4 ? Just tried mine with a 2 ohm ( usually use 1.5 -1.8 and it's a bit better ! Up to 7w with no burn I don't actually have any higher ohm heads for it.

Google tells me this seems to be quite a common issue with protanks and vamos.

I'm officially clueless.
Just sat here with the SID. The aluminium V2 vamo and the v5 vamo. Same tank. 1.4 ohm microcoil with cotton. And an aspire tank.
Sid - no issues at all. 8.5watts. Throws out the clouds and no burnt taste. No issues with the aspire.
Alu vamo - 8.5watts. Lovely clouds. No burt hits. But the top get way too hot. No issues with the aspire top doesn't get too hot.
V5 vamo - 5watt- burt taste. Tried volts - burnt taste. Tried the aspire. No issues.
Will try a different juice a bit later if no different, I give up!

this is odd, maybe it is down to the low-ohm microcoil. I vamo & PT-II as a standard setup, 1.8Ohms on a standard-type coil, normally vape at 7.2 watts (using volts, 3.6v through a 1.8 ohm coil draws 2 amps, therefore watts =IV, 2x3.6=7.2 watts. maybe it's because it's approaching the vamo's low-resistance level, all it takes is a couple of components in the circuit to be off-tolerance a bit.....

I wish I knew what was causing it! The plan is to start micro coiling myself so will be able to see how it copes with a slightly higher resistance. But as it is it's been thrown in unused vape stuff draw. I got it to use with the microcoils I already have. And they last so long it'll be a while yet before they're replaced so with it not working with them it's currently pointless. The v2 works fine with them. No burnt hits at all. But it gets too hot. I assumed that was due to the microcoils so ordered the v5 thinking with it being the latest it would be okay.

I knew the problem was familiar Yesterday and today I've been having the same issue with an evod and an RGM2, few draws fine, then burned taste, on both a vamo v2 and an X6. I've re-wicked, re-coiled, soaked heads overnight, you name it, I've tried it. Jerri did you ever get to the bottom of this? p.s. sorry for resurrecting this thread, I just knew I'd read about a similar issue before

I started using joncos coils which are higher ohms and it seems fine with them for the most part. I do still get some burnt hits during the day seemingly randomly. And no matter what I do this happens. Whereas I used the same tank and liquid on the SID and never got a burnt hit.
