I've been mixing since October 13, but early this year developed a intolerance to pg.Since then I've been striving to mix as near to 100% as I can,but failing and opting for "flavouring up" my juices with menthol crystals. With 10% flavours and nicotine base still brought me short of my ideal 100%. So I investigated!!!!!!! Glycerin does not readily take on flavours, unlike pg and alcohol. So you have to force it, it's a bit like a petulant child, caress it when it behaves- kick when it doesn't!!!!:-P My first two experiments are looking good. 100% vg is possible , you don't have to accept what you're dished up. I've used a technique given to me by an American eliquid manufacturer. I use 1 pint mason jars(3 for £2.40 Asda, about 80p at Ikea). Half fill the jar with your chosen herbs, spice, etc. (recipes to follow) fill to the top w ith glycerine(vg). Leave the lid open and place in a slow cooker on top of a tea towel(if you don't the mason jar will crack, I know cause I've done it). A couple of layers of kitchen towel will do. Put it on low heat with the lid off overnight, some herbs/spices may need a bigger kick up the arse... My first foray was liquorice and star anise-possibly the nicest juice I've ever had, a little sweet for me,so I may add a little straight vg to level it. But a rock solid success. The second venture involves what I happened to be cooking for my friends that day-thai curry- lemon grass, coriander, chillies, coconut, kafir lime leaves, and ginger. I think it's a beautiful thing, nobody agrees with me. I'll post some pics when I get home. Remember this is exactly the same as the manufacturers do, you can do the same without the slow cooker if you're using pg or alcohol, your concentrate will just be stronger, as these will take on the flavour more readily. As I reduced my nicotine, I found the priciest thing in my juice was the concentrates, no more- liquorice root £2 for a lifetime supply.

Excellent news seniorphil... I'm assuming the PG in brackets above should be VG? I've just had a big bag of dried chamomile flowers delivered so will be steeping my first homebrew concentrate this weekend

Chamomile will work a treat, in pg it probably won't need the 12 hour slow cooker steep. Let me know how it comes out.

do you filter it or just use it as it is? Forgot to say, filter through a coffee filter or muslin cloth. Give it a good squeeze to get all the love out of your juice...ooh er....I like the sound of that. I am taking the rind off 12 grapefruit at the moment, into the slow cooker tonight, I'll report back here tomorrow. Can someone let me know how pg steeping goes as I will be forcing my juices on my disciples.

I quite fancy trying something like this but have been a bit off by some stuff i've read about some natural ingredients being no good for steeping since it will impart oil and possibly other things that aren't good to vape.
Where can I find information about the do's and don'ts relating to this?
Isn't citrus rind a no no because of the oil?

I am only doing what the ejuice/food flavouring people are doing on a larger scale. I work on the principal that whatever I do, it'll always be safer than Embassy No1. I'll let you know(or one of my loved ones will) if the grapefruit oil kills me, but I think I'll live to tell the tale.

I want to make my own concentrates in VG but have chosen a different method.
I have a small still and intend to use a steamer to extract flavour from various fruits and then distill that to concentrate the flavour.
Probably several months of experimenting before I get anything useable.
