I've read on a number of occasions of certain RBA's suiting certain flavours of juice, the Rose and deserts for example.
Is there one that shines when vaping tobacco? Has anyone identified what it is about a design that makes it better suited to one flavour type than another?
I suppose the same question could be asked about wick material. I've never tried mesh but read that some find this suits tobacco.

I get much more lush dense flavour from a Kraken clone with dual 2.5 mm ss rope wicks and 0.5 x 0.01 Kanthal ribbon than anything else I have tried, any decent gene with reduced chamber actually and just vape Hansen USA Mix tobacco.

Thanks for the info VapingBad I've been considering the Hcigar Kraken clone so might give it try. Rope and mesh will be a first for me.

@scooby ribbon is too difficult to start with IMO, this is a great video that should get you going quickly.

As it's my birthday at the end of the month I decided against the Hcigar clone VapingBad and treat myself. I've ordered an the original Vicious Ant one. Vapist were offering a small discount which helped The Kracken comes ready to build with stainless rope and mesh. Will let you know how I get on with my first one.

Genesis atties do seem to bring out tobacco flavours, mesh wick and not cotton wool though. That attie that VapingBad mentioned is a great one to try with

Received the Kraken today. Very impressed with the quality. Decided to build a single coil to start with and glad I did. Went for SS rope and mesh with 0.28mm kanthal at about 1.3 ohms. After a quick wash of the kraken it took me about 2 hrs (walked away twice and had a coffee and vape) before I got it going. Have to say it was well worth it. So different from the vacuum and filler atties I have, the flavour is rich and full, the intensity dependent on how the excellent air flow control is set. Will try a dual coil build and drop the ohms a little next. VapingBad before I try that any tips on speeding up the build. I seemed to get a hot leg on the + post, pulsing and fiddling a bit got the top coil going but took ages to get rid of the hot spot. Eventually got the whole coil glowing nicely then just a hot top coil again. when I did get a consistent glow I wasn't sure what I had done to achieve that I guess it just a learning curve and comes with practice. Vaping HoL Perique now and you're right it's lush

Glad to hear you like it @scooby, mostly hot-spots (not shorts) are where the coil is looser and you move the ones next to it up and down a bit or even twist the wick with tweezers to tighten that loop. Hot legs often caused by too long bit of wire between centre post and wick, putting washers on the centre post or bending the wick toward it a bit can help, on the RSST I wind the loose end of kanthal around the leg as a heat sink. Experience is the best teacher and I'm knackered after a difficult day so hope my reply makes sense, don't hesitate to ask anything else and I will help if I can.
