Being a Galaxy man I have no experience with the Nexus. I can point you in the right direction tho. Sign up at forum.xda-developers.com/ and ask in the relevant forum. Yes, the latest Android versions do suck the juice. At xda they develope their own versions of Android, including CyanogenMod which I flash to all my devices. Point to note - Google want to buy CyanogenMod as a developement house for Android.

igualThey reckon an app called "Better battery stats" is the best thing for tracking down these kind of problems but its not free, couple of quid if I remember Also an app called wakelok detector (free) can be handy. First thing to check is - go to settings, click battery, then click on the graph, it should open up into a bigger graph, give you some idea of usage and on the graph lines you should be able to work out how long the screen has been on, how long the tablet has been awake etc.

Well I flashed cache last night it seems better but its still there using 8% battery in 1 hour. 40 mins of which WaS on web so a definate improvement. I'm going to try to back up my pics/docs to my google drive only thing I have no idea how to backup is the potv ejuice calculator recipes. Ripshod is there an idiots guide to flashing and using that cyanogen oojamaflip thingymybob. ( tech term for I cannot remember what they are called ) I am sorely tempted to factory reset once I have figured out how to back the recipes up. Am doing a copy in book as well

If they're not already there move the recipes over to the SD card, or even a PC. A reset will not affect anything there. for flashing info all I can suggest is having a good look around those forums. It's what I had to do (about a week of reading) and I had enough then to attempt the first flash. Before attempting to flash have a backup of the existig firmware and a method of loading it to the phone. For Samsungs it's ODIN, not too clued on the Nexus. I think a firmware reset will solve your problem tho. Looks like something installed is trying to access a non-existant SD card. Flashing needs an SD card, recovery/reset doesn't

Update it seems more freindly on battery after i enabled developer mode and went over to the art iso but its still a little funky ( might be the fact I'm battery watching lol) I'll give it a couple days then if not I'll blat it bk to default. Its been on battery since 2.20pm and I've been on it all time including an iso optimisations thingy that used 5% in 20 mins as I'm guessing it was a lot of processing as it got hot lol and battery is now at 67% .

If you have access to the terminal on it open a command prompt and enter 'top'
It'll show a list of the top 20 processes in order of processor use (similar to task manager in Windows) - dead handy
