So I have 2 ee contracts. £100 a month in total and for the last couple of months my Internet connection has been shocking. I have spoken to them numerous times and been told it is because transmitters are being upgraded for 4G in my area.
This appears to have now been completed as I have found if I park in the car park of my local shopping centre I now get 4G! Yay!
Unfortunately I have to park in a certain space in this particular car park to obtain the new super fast 4G signal. If I venture a few feet away I get no Internet service whatsoever.
They have been kind enough to credit my account with £5 for my inconvenience. Wow. £5 for not being able to use the service I pay for. They are taking the piss. And they had the cheek to ask if I wanted to upgrade in January and enter a new contract!
Rant over. For now.

Ah, 4G - I would love to live somewhere that gets . . . . . . GPRS all the time, let alone 3G!!!!!! Make the best of it jmw2309, you are about 5 years ahead of us Westcountrymen, so enjoy the luxury of 4G while you can As far as the contracts are concerned, don't let them off the hook; you have paid for a service which they have failed to provide, you are in the right and they have already taken your money. Insist that either they adequately compensate you or you will go to the media, that will soon shut them up.

I have created a shitty email to get the ball rolling with them. Then I think I will phone a few times a day to complain if it continues to be a poor service. I may even take a week off work to do it!
The monthly payment includes insurance and unlimited allowance as I use my phone loads. Their service was good until the last couple of months.

Swap to o2 first chance you get, as you can tell I would not know as my monthly outgoings on the finer things in life , plus gas and leccy, and house insurance etc haha combined cost less than your phone , but my friends who do seem permanently attached to their phones swear by o2.

When my Orange contract expires next month, I'm going Giffgaff too; my daughter is with them, and has unlimited everything I think for about £12/mth - it's just so much cheaper than all the others, and they use the same networks (not that that will help me much of course, I can't get a signal in my village, and have to wait until I get to the top of the hill before everything xxG-related springs into life!). Take note jmw2309 hehe!

When we were on our hols we were on the hydrofoil from Athens to Spetses in the middle of Myrtoan Sea with perfect 4G coverage, as it was for our entire stay on the very small island of Spetses. I live right on the Surrey/Berkshire/Hampshire border, one of the most affluent areas of the country and am lucky if I can get 3G! Crazy!!!!

EE are a bunch of total bankers.
You need to get into a process where you are pursuing them for selling you a contact they cannot deliver.
£5 is taking the proverbial.
There must be an ombudsman... take your case to them and let them get some proper compensation for you - they (EE) are bang out of order.

Been with many a network over the years, but I have been surprised that tesco mobile have given me the best deal. A free Galaxy phone, 500 mins, 5000 texts and 1 gig data for £7.50 a month, and we get more free minutes or data since we have two contracts (myself and the wife, oops,. I mean boss)
One good thing is the bill can be capped so that you cannot go over the basic contractual allowances and never pay more than £7.50. Suits us great since we dont call that much and have broadband at home.
So we got a lot of allowances for £15 a month on two phones, a hell of a lot more, for much less than we paid for two pay as you go jobbies.
