Mini Erl with Glass K-fun Tank - Fast tech.

I recently mentioned this elsewhere on forum  so this is a follow up as to the fit.

Kfun glass tank SKU 1797300.

Glass fitted but is 0.4mm short for the mini Erl (although the glass is 0.2mm short of the stated 24mm) but not a problem.

With the standard supplied O rings the tank fitted but was easily rotated so once screwed to a device you couldnt get it off.

Easy fix was to use some fatter O rings (got these from a kfun kit) and the fit was nice and tight.

So overall they do fit and look better than the frosty PMA tank.




 Other than a few niggles I have to iron out with the mini Erl am very happy with it.

Off to order some more as I want to powder coat 1 black, if i can get the deck apart.

Any FT mini erl users out there?
I have a wobbly deck that is sending my readings/firing out of sync.

is this normal or should it be tight?

A few tanks have a little wobble depending on the device they are being fired on, however readings jumping about can be painful.

How far is the resistance jumping?

Its the central deck part that is wobbly.

i have it wrapped to what i know is 1.4 ohms.
It has gone as low as 1.2 and as high as 2.2 at 9W which was 5.summat volts (scorchio).

I think I have cracked it though it appears the air flow ring underneath is what keeps the central deck tight.
But with it all nipped up tight Im hardly getting any air through it.

I think I may have to file some air grooves in the plastic part to where im happy with the airflow and leave it at that.

Maybe you've got a screw loose?

Problem solved, ceedee you were right I have a screw loose.
The insulator cup is threaded and that holds the deck in.
Very clever design.

Hey, I had exactly the same issue as this. did you undo the centre pin thinking it was adjustable? Ive had mine now just over a week nearly as good as kayfun mini but still fighting with AFC...hopefully it will work out cos I do like the look of it.

I've got a full-size and the mini from FastTech plus a Wotofo full-size clone that I picked up from richo71 in the classifieds.

Nope had the screw 'hela tight' and the deck was still wobbly.
But if you take the screw right out the white insulator piece has a slot in it.
Tighten it down and the deck is now rock solid.
I love this thing, easy build/fill.
Kfuns are already looking dusty.
Ordered a 8ml and a short chimney.
