For my personal taste 5-7% of capella concentrate would not be anywhere near strong enough. Perhaps it would be for you though bunglebear.

Agreed with you there I tend to have most of my mixes around the 20% mark when all flavours are combined, I've just mixed some Chefs rebranded and had to find a smaller syringe because I've mixed them at 10%

Generally I aim for an overall 20-25% of flavouring in my mixes, to suit my tastes . . . .

Another circa 20%ish overall flavour mixer here bunglebear, unless it's tobacco flavours, then yes, 5%ish is about right... normally! It's very difficult to recommend a % for all flavours, or even a single brand of flavour as everyone's tastebuds are so different. There is much trial and error required with mixing... for me though, that's all part of the fun!

same here - no 'best' - depends on what I want - and I generally mix on 20% - happy - it really is fun

The hardest part is waiting for them to steep... I've been trying Sex on the Beach, (with) Shirley Temple, Watermelon Wow and Mudslide tonight, all of them around 6 hours old

I'd be tempted to have a try at the GVC ' clone ' recipe if I were you bunglebear. Capella Vanilla Custard 18% Dulche de Leche 2% French Vanilla Deluxe 4% Sweetener 1% Sweetener isn't essential, but you could always add that at a later stage if you don't have any or wanted to. You could also try a Caramel & Butterscotch blend . . . 15% Caramel/5% Butterscotch, they've flavours that combine nicely together, or mix them up separately at the 20% mark.

I'm another who didn't vote as I have concentrates from all of them (and others.) E.g where as Cap Custard is (imo) the best custard, Flavour Art make my favourite Butterscotch. TPA, FA & Capella are where the majority of mine are from though.
Percentage to add wise, this is also different for each brand and also for how many flavours you are using together. For instance, I'd only add a tiny % of caramel from FA, but a great deal more of TPA Caramel...
I've discovered that the more into mixing I get, the less simple it becomes!! I'm not satisfied with just having one sort of cream or vanilla from one company - I'm always chasing/reading reviews for others. It never ends and I think I need help!!!
