Want about 7 wraps on a jewellers needle to come out about 1.7ohms

Was on super shiny's micro coil guide but that's gone awry

Need to order about 10 metres?

Any help appreciated

Does that matter? DiscoDes. Just a regular single coil jobbie - protank 2 perhaps type thing? I don't know. I bung the same coil on all my atties. I have taifun gs/erl clone and davide mega right now in my vape box

Hi Jane, yes it matters as we now know you need to make quite a small coil that will fit in a PT head. Unfortunately I am no wire expert but I'm sure someone will come along and suggest the correct size.

I just bunged some figures into STEAM ENGINE and got the following

Assuming yourscrewdriver shaft is 2mm using 30awg 7 wraps gives you 1.7 ohms.

Can someone check this please?

I use 30AWG on a 1.5mm mandrel and 7 or 8 wraps gives me 1.6 ohms. Got 10 metres off ebay for £2.80

if i rem right it was prob .25 mm for those of us who dont know what awg is (thats me for 1)

30AWG is .25
Just checked and I use 7 wraps on a 1.5mm mandrel to get 1.6 ohms

6 turns of 0.25mm Kanthal on a 2mm spindle gives approx 1.6 - 1.8 ohms.

Hi Jane, assuming by jewelers needle you mean 2mm mandrel on a touching microcoil with 4mm leads.

awg 31 - 7 turns ,0 spacing = 1.7ohm
awg 30 - 8 turns, 0 spacing = 1.63ohm

on a 1.5mm mandrel 7 turns of 32 awg with 4mm leads gives 1.76ohm.

10m awg 31/0.23mm £1.90.
