Got my Kaidomain 16340 1000mAh yelllow batteries today, just went to use one and it's too fat for my SD MkI They appear rather badly made compared to the mauve ones, one of the pair I opened and charged has a pronounced lump on the + end rim, the other is not so bad but not as neat as the mauve ones. I got one battery in bum first (I know that's the "right" way but I normally insert them head first) but it was so tight it's taken me ages to get it out again. Oh dear, the perils of buying from China scylla

Yes, mine are a tighter fit too Scylla, especially 'bum first' but a good shake got it out again, and 'bum up' it came back out fine, but defo a tighter fit than the lilac ones...
do you mean they don't fit at all?

The one with a pronounced lump on rim won't go in head first; bum first the SD doesn't screw up as fully as with mauve batt. I'm just testing a yellow one now. It's working, but I have to get a rubber grip thingy to get it out, won't shake out. I bet I won't be able to get a good photo but may try when I get some energy. Bro has just landed Gatwick, must (1) try to make some space for him, an old telly is on his sofabed; (2) brace myself scylla

Oh dear, the perils of buying from China scylla I got some from KD and they are (orange) UltraFire XSL18350 1200mAh 3.7v - these fit my SDII perfectly. They are pretty cheap and haven't exploded - yet! They were recommended for the MkII on Trog's forum and I thought the ones for the MkI were blue but my memory is terrible. Fox

The usual Spiderfires for SDI are the mauve ones... I was going to say "I bet I've bought the wrong ones" but no, cos they're the same number, I checked: LC 16340. I bought 6 of the darn things scylla

I forgot I had it Have found it, and the battery has to be forced in and pulled out with gripper - I dare not push it in to operating position because the Nano body is longer than SD's and there would be nothing to hold to pull it out. Lilac, the Nano was an early model, a smaller version of the GG which I insisted on buying thinking I should be modest - it didn't hit home to me that it was just an SD in a different guise, takes the same batteries etc And I paid about £100 for it, which was £10-off because it had 2 lots of different engraving on top of each other. I think that Chrissie tried to warn me at the time but I wouldn't listen And then I found that my skin reacted with the metal to give me metallic-smelling hands, intolerable. scylla
