I think it was mentioned in the 1947 study that pg acted as a germicide and that was a side that was discovered during the testing. Haven't read the full 70 page study though so only going by what someone else said was in it so maybe that's wrong. Has anyone read the full transcript and can confirm yay or nay.

Glycol is used in chilled water air con systems as an anti-freeze , the only thing I know of that is "pumped" into an air con system is boiled , purified water , which is to keep humidity levels balanced.
