Hi all. Just been reading a bit more about the VG&PG and scared myself. Apparently these products are in Vaporisers, I use one for my Asthma could I 'overdose' on them?
Let myself down tonight, had a real ciggie, to see if I could tell the difference and do you know what?....No I could not, so why would I want to smoke them again...I am going to save a bit, not a lot, of money vapping, used to spend £56 per week, I am sure vapping isn't going to cost that much is it, providing I don't mad on liquids.
I have never been so excited about a product in my life( apart from my PS3) HaHa.
I am sure my grandchildren will be delighted, they have been going on at me for years to stop smoking as have my daughters
No longer will I be expelled to the garden in all weathers for a fag once i have explained the technology behind these wonderful gadgets. Have cleared out all my ash trays, and now now vap in the comfort of my arm chair instead of smoking in the cold and draughty outhouse.
Thanks everyone for your help and support, happy vapping!

I don't know much about inhalers but I would have thought that the PG/VG is only a carrier for the actual medication in the inhaler so I wouldn't think it is anything to worry unduly about but as with all things medical, if you are worried, speak to your doctor.

Sorry - abrupt end to that post - Flossie decided to clamber over the keyboard and cursor and buttons and stuff went all crazy. You didn't let yourself down having a cig - you have achieved loads by all the cigs you haven't had and so you should be feeling rightly smug with yourself.

Hey Lil, being quite new myself I admit to not doing too much research into vg/pg, I'm happy enough to know that they are widely used in other products and do not seem to pose a threat to most people. Now if you do a bit research into the side effects and health hazzards of inhaling burning tobacco, to me, it becomes a no-brainer! I would rather be totally free of my nicotine addiction but I'm a hopeless addict I see vaping as damage limitation and a very enjoyable alternative to the cancer sticks I was smoking! I'm sure you will save loads of money in the future, the start up costs do seem steep and then there are all the tempting shineys, but £56 a week even Perpy would be pushing it to spend that, lol (sorry Perpy ) I still can't quite get used to the fact that I can vape in any room of the house, it's quite a novelty. I'm glad you found your 'real cig' comparible, try one in a few weeks time (I did) It was disgusting! Just take things one day at a time and if you are really worried about overdoseing with vaping and your asthma inhaler, talk it over with your GP. with a bit of luck you may not have to use your inhaler quite as much now you are not smoking

You can't overdose on PG or VG, it's only the nicotine you have to be careful with.
Other than that I fully agree with everything Karma said.

I agree with tizer. Have a chat with your GP to get his/her opinion on vaping to put your mind at rest if you're not 100% sure. Take some info. printed from the internet in case he/she hasn't heard of them. This site has some good info. www.ecigaddict.com/are-electronic-cigarettes-safe/

Womble s right. You will find VG & PG in so many everyday products - from margarine to mouthwash. In fact some hospitals pump PG through their air conditioning systems as it is known to have anti viral properties.

I am an asthmatic & suffer with a variety of allergies & I've never had a problem vaping. I do tend to stick with 100% VG as I find it dosen't cause me any problems. I do keep meaing to re-try PG based juices, but haven't gotten round to it yet.
I'm sure you will be fine. Vaping has got to be better for asthma then ciggies.

With you all the way there Karma . . . it's only relatively recently I've taken to having a vape in bed, up until then, I used to get up and come down into the kitchen if I woke during the night. Then MM asked why I was doing that . . . and I thought, why am I doing that?! So I don't now.

Just on the cost thing, I think it's quite easy for the average vaper to get away with £12 a week in the long run. Let's say you get through 3ml a day, you replace 2 batteries every six months and buy a packet of new cartos a month. None of these are outrageous assumptions. Worst case 90ml juice = £35/month battery £12 x 2 per 6 months = £4/month cartos = £6/month Total = £45/month + P&P = £12 a week. And you could easily reduce these costs a bit by shopping around. Compare to the cost of tobacco. I'm assuming a perfect world in which you are not a shiny gadget freak, so your mileage may vary.

Pg is sometimes used as a propellant for carrying round oxygen to plug in masks at the hospital it's not something that you can OD on it's purely a means to propel the nicotine into your mouth and creates some vapour at the same time. Going back to an analog is not at all letting anyone down your body has lived and craved the nicotine and other chemicals within them for a long time so giving them up no matter which way you do it is never going to be easy as at the start there will be the one you miss - the early morning one - the relax after work one - the one after nuptuals eventually they just wont taste good anymore which is what makes vaping different to just giving up - i gave up cold turkey for 8 months and the my first cig was the best cig i've ever had yet i've had a few puffs of ciggies since switching to vaping and then understand why i vape instead

I always budget on £12 a week, same figures. I worked this out a couple of months ago and post that figure as an approximate running cost for new vapers, so I'm glad you came to the same conclusion as me 2Risky. That can even come down more if you use a long life carto (Stardust) and re-wick it. I am sat here vaping Dekang juice bought on the Groupbuy at £6.50 is for 50ml, so that drops it even further!
