You got me looking all over the 'net for info then Karma! Lol. People seem to have so many different theories. The link below is promoting a book they're trying to sell, but they don't think that brushing and flossing are the answer to preventing tooth decay. ??? www.curetoothdecay.com/Tooth_Decay/tooth_decay_overview.htmLOL Anne, don't go looking on my account, i think it's one of these subjects that will always bring up conflicting reports on google! I was just wanting to hear about members own experiences I'm not giving up my brushing and flossing just yet Interesting fact, toothpaste originally contained sugar ???

That's interesting Kev, I worked, very briefly as an oral health adviser, and the advice was not to even rinse after brushing as you would rinse all the flouride away! That's what I'd heard too. Although I usually forget, as it's such a habit to rinse out my mouth afterwards.

There's no way I'd want to keep that in my mouth, it gets rinsed out immediately, with a mouthwash too before bed.

I don't know. I had quite bad gum disease, requiring aggressive scale and polish at every check up. The dentist claimed it was due to smoking, and I subsequently read that it was related to nicotine in the mouth (apparently it's a vasoconstrictor)
On the other hand, vaping allows my blood to be fully oxygenated, so maybe it balances out a bit.
Last visit I did not need a scale and polish, and the staining I have from all of my years of smoking does seem to be less, if not diminishing, possibly because I'm not spraying them with tar.

Just wondering....... can vaping make your teeth sensitive? Went to the Dentist for my 6 monthly clean and polish and OMG was it painful! Hygienist said that my teeth would be sensitive for a while because of not smoking nasties. She was very pleased that I had stopped and was interested in my Riva and juices. She did advise to use a toothpaste & mouthwash for sensitive teeth for about a year to let my teeth and gums recover.......... don't know how true that is though

I think it's the other way around - I have sensitive teeth, but found the nasties had some anaesthetic effect...

My teeth and gums have been more sensitive on and off for a while, but it's a side effect of one of the tablets I'm on, so assumed it was that. Maybe it's not ???

I'm finding I have to clean my teeth and rinse with mouth wash 3 or 4 times a day, as vaping seems to be leaving a coating everywhere, then flavours become muted, the flavour thing bothers me a little, but the noticeable coating really makes my feel yuk. Not sure if brushing so often is very good.
