Did my very first coiling and wicking job on the above a few days ago, a dual coil job at around .75ohm. Very pleased with myself. No shorts, around the ohm I wanted, vape was fantastic, no dry hits. Then, started leaking from the base air holes (a bit, but not too bad). However, the following morning, empty tank and juice all in a pool around the base. Looked all around for fixes/explanations, some said wicking, some said vacuum, some said they all leak and there's nowt to be done... I concluded that it can't be the wicking - it was draining while standing and juice cannot continuously climb all by itself, so today I tried an experiment. I had top filled it - I thought that, if you need to maintain a vacuum, this aint gonna do it - so I bottom filled with water while keeping my thumb over the drip tip. At first the water just pumped itself out of the battery connector, but then it started to work. Sealed it up and that water has now stayed in for 6 hours, dry as a bone. Will try it with juice and vaping next... looking like the top fill is just a red herring on this clone... will post how I get on

After about 10 hours had leaked just a little - but this is water we are talking about, so will dry out overnight and try a vape in the morning. Does have a two part chimney, VapingBad , but knowing where I can find a spare useful! If it works with bottom filling will try the turning upside down after top filling, phtumshk be a shame not to use this because I hate those little damned screws....

Try a vape band over the air hole when filling and transporting.

Actually, VapingBad turns out it does not have the two part chimney - confusing it with the Goblin I ordered at the same time, be really handy to check for potential shorts after building, but this is V5 not V6, and Fastech reckon will only fit V6 - shame. will certainly try a vape band if nothing else works, suspect I will just be using this one at home, though!

Ended up recoiling and rewicking, did exactly the same thing as first time... am going to stick to Goblin and Eleaf, as this thing is a pain to fill even when it works, and it does not work for long. Interestingly can find lots of vids and instructions for version 4 and version 6 - none for this - maybe it's just a bit of a dud....

Another thought. If it is leaking for a short period straight after filling & then stops you may be filling it to full. Trouble with top fill is you can fill them to the brim but ideally you need a small amount of air space for a vacuum to form to stop the liquid pissin out the bottom.

fwiw i top fill most of my goblins and orchid clones, by simply securing and sealing the tank in place with a wrap of ptfe before removing the top. use a vape band as suggested above to cover air intake holes if they cant be closed for the fill, and fill to just under the lip of the chimney before reattaching the top, pulling the tape and opening the air in holes..
some attys will leak a little while the pressure finds its status quo and balances in an equilibrium i tend to sit them on a tissue overnight before use in anger..
