This is the much anticipated mod that is promoted as being able to TC any kind of atomiser wire. Originally priced at over £100 but now available for under £40 for the Black one.

SIZE.
It is surprisingly small for a dual 18650 mod. Compared to a clone DNA40 above. It is the same width and depth as the DNA40 (which seems soooo last year now lol). It is about 2mm higher than the DNA40 clone. So if you think that 2 battery mods are just too big for you, this may be what you are looking for to get a better battery life without having to buy the likes of the Xcube2. (a great mod, but bigger and heavier).
Unlike the DNA40, the corners are nicely rounded and it sits nicely in the hand. The rounded corners make it actually look smaller and slimmer than the DNA40 clone.
The "T" button which is used for up/down power at the top of the T and mode change at the bottom has a firm action and is not likely to be activated in normal vaping use.
The fire button has a nice click to it, not over firm.
The 510 connector.
The 510 is a spring loaded one. In my picture at the top it doesn`t look like it but the atty was not tightened up. The Magma does sit flush okay.
The threading is stainless steel and seems well machined. The centre pin is the usual brass but looks the colour of gold plate, I could be wrong about that.
Connectivity quality is very important with kanthal and other resistance wires that do not change resistance a lot with heat.
The Asolo depends heavily on as near a stable low resistance connection as possible.
BATTERY HOUSING
The mod is mostly made from one solid piece of Aluminium alloy. This helps greatly with keeping the size down. The batteries are wired in series with clear markings to show which way round they should go on. I would only recommend using the best batteries in this mod, 25rs or VTCs. In order to work well with the TC in Kanthal or other wires with similar qualities a stable voltage is essential.
HOW IT WORKS
THE LEARN MODE
You start from Power Mode. You adjust the power until you get the taste that suits you. It should be remembered that your atomiser will have a set burning temperature depending on the coil and wicking performance. Your preferred taste must be below that power level for obvious reasons. As an example I set the power to 12 watts.
I am using a Mini Nautilus atty with a 2 ohm Dual Coil BDC. The mod is set to power mode initially. The flavour and warmth of vape I like is coming in at 12 watts. You need to give it a few vapes at this power for a period of about 4 seconds each vape.
Contrary to what a lot of vapers may believe, the resistance does increase when the coil gets hotter. It is only roughly one tenth of the resistance change you would get with a nickel coil.
What the ASOLO seems to have is a very sensitive resistance detecting circuit. The difference between a room temperature coil resistance and a coil working at 12 watts is under about 0.1 of an ohm.
You now press the bottom arm of the T button until it changes to TC mode (shown in the video). If the mod does not think it has learned the difference in resistance properly, it may ask you to go through the "learn" process again.
The video shows the mod lying on it`s side which is why the control is kicking in as the coils are not getting enough liquid to keep them below a certain temperature. If I were vaping normaly the TC would not be kicking in until the wick started to dry out and the coil got hotter.
The resistance reading on the display is live all of the time. It seems to sample the resistance many times a second, even when idle. You can see it change in 0.01ohm steps.
It is essential to have very good and clean connections in the current path to the coils. If you thought Nickel was fussy, this is much fussier. It is also essential to have the coil at exactly the same temperature as the room/mod/ambient temperature before you do the "learning" puffs or the mod will not perform properly when you switch to taste control. The "T" button van then be used to fine tune the vape. It can be adjusted between 80% and 110% of the power value that is set in the "learn" process
Taste/temperature control does work on the mod but you have to be fussy about all the connections. You may need to nip up the coil screws occasionaly if you find the resistance is higher than it should be. Hope this is some help if you are having trouble with the TC and Kanthal.
So basically , IT IS Temperature Control but much more sensitive than a mod that can only use Nickel or Titanium.
The resistance measurement is constantly updated as you can see from the video and is extremely sensitive.
It really does work very well if setup correctly. The coil MUST be at the ambient temperature before you go into "LEARN" mode. It isn`t a problem if you are using a tank as the juice will always bring the coil back to temperature quickly after a vape. If you are using a dripper, the heat tends to build up in the dripper body itself and transfers to the coil giving a false setup. If done correctly it works fine.
I have seen reference to making the mod "LEARN" multiple times, it isn`t necessary and defeats the object because there will be heat building up every time you do it.
MORE PICS
The mod I have is one of the early ones, there may be improvements added since I got mine.
The mod is available on Gearbest China for about £37 for the black one, the other colours are considerably more for some reason? isabel22
It was supplied to me free for review but that does not affect my thoughts on the mod in any way.
