Tobeco 1:1 Aeronaut RDA Clone vs Authentic (Text & Pics)

I purchased the clone from here.

Well so far easy to spot the difference when it comes to packaging.
Authentic in the nice plastic case, Tobeco in the simple cardboard box.



Both come with the same spares and a hex key.



Deck with AFC tube in place, hard to see any difference here.
So far so good with the claim of being 1:1



AFC tube removed, still looking identical, no differences in construction or anything yet.



Underside of base, i did spot a difference here aside from the serial number that is, the insulator that separates the positive pin from the 510 threading looks to be made of a different material.
The one inside on the deck looks the same but the one on the pin is a different material for sure.



Inside the top cap, again no difference here between the two.



No real giveaways on the outside either, the clone looks slightly more polished on the surface but the authentic has had some use the clone is new.

As clones go this is very good indeed, the top cap the post screws, the clamps, the AFC tubes on the clone all fit the authentic and vice versa.
I really could only find two very minor differences.
One i pointed out the different material on the 510 insulator and the other is the post screws on the authentic have a light knurling on the outside of the head, the clone ones don't, they are the same size, same threading just the head on one has that knurling and the other doesn't.

It's not the cheapest of clones i'll say that but i did buy this from a UK vendor, i haven't been able to find any Chinese vendors stocking it, i suspect it might be a bit cheaper if they did.
All the Chinese sites have the completely inaccurate version which is supposedly based upon an early beta prototype that Aeronaut never released for sale.
