Vaper arrested in Thailand

Just heard that a friend of mine has apparently been arrested in Thailand for vaping and threatened with imprisonment if he did not pay a 'fine'. Seems he ended up paying about £650 to get his release. Apparently the 'fine' was negotiable; he got it down from about 3 times that amount.

Seems he did not check that Thailand has recently introduced some sweeping anti-vaping legislation. Only have this second hand from his partner via another friend so details a bit sketchy but anyway if anyone is going to Thailand beware.

That's really sad to hear.....another form of "legalised" extortion

Not that the "Brown shirts" exactly had the best reputation anyway

On a slightly different note, I'm off to visit my good lady in Davao, Philippines next month.

Davao is the city where the current President was the previous Mayor. Smoking is banned in the city and people are monitored by CCTV constantly. I'm not sure if same applies to vaping (they have vape stores - yipppeee!)........

Brother in-law married a Thai. They go there often. Thailand's weirdsville! The bad stuff they turn a blind eye to is disgraceful, then they go and arrest vapers. Like i said weirdsville!
