Hello everyone, From June, CAM-VIP along with our VIP partners are starting to work together to get ecigs into traditional pubs throughout the country. The 'pilot' pub will be my local (The Anglers Rest), and will be the only CAM-VIP E-bacconist until after VapeFest 2012. We need to find out if our 'model' works for the pub, the smokers wanting to try ecigs and the local established vapers. We already have a good idea of the entry level products to encourage smokers to give ecigs a go, BUT an essential part of this project, is to encourage established vapers to use the 'shop' as well. CAM-VIP is not a business and has limited funds to play with, so we need to rely on the generosity and good will of our VIP partners to supply the pub(s) with a limited range of 'emergency essentials' for those who already vape. What essentials would you like to see an ecig shop in your area stock? My vaping 'emergency essentials' would be; - 510 cartomiser/atomisers
- a small range of eliquid (18 or 24mg, as that strength just about does the job)
- a few eGo type batteries and chargers (they are good enough)
What would yours be? Please be sensible as there are limits as to what the pub would stock initially, however, once they receive regular visits from you, the pub itself may find it in their interest to order what you require and stock it. An example at The Anglers is that 3 regulars really like Buds, so Simone may stock those. Thanks for your help Russell

What would yours be? I'm not from UK myself, but that's a good idea all in all.. *eGo's for beginners = Great *liquids 12/16/24 (lot of "oldies" have already dropped their nic strenght...) Or just add some basic PG / VG bottles that you can use to reduce the nic strenght (with the downside of flavor reducing also :/ ) * Boge LR/SR cartos | SmokTech DC | and ofc dripping atomizers (seems like people are unable to STOCK that stuff for some odd reason -.-) So you do have about everything needed in there with minimal funding requirements.. 10x packs of 5 Boge's each (metal ones without tapes for tank users in mind). same for the Smok DC's.. 1l of random 5-10ml juices and 10 starter eGo sets (few colors (black/white) and (650mAg/900mAh/1000(1100mAh) to show the lenght differences.

I think that's an excellent list Russell, especially if the cartomisers where Boge's as suggested by Yak #icon_thumbsup# That range of items would be perfect for new vapers & even long time vapers like myself in an emergency

Thanks Chrissie and colliwobbles The SDKs are at the top of the list for smokers and experienced vapers alike - plus we hope to be able to significantly undercut the price that all the online vendors sell them for in the initial 'start up' package that we will offer the pubs. After all, CAM-VIP is not in it for profit! However, once the E-bacconist is up and running it will be in the hands of the publican to negotiate prices with our VIP partners and they can then charge what they think they can get away with and stock the products that their customers will buy!

I would suggest a good selection of disposable's and dare I say it on here, but cig-e-likes. They need to be able to catch the punters attention enough to make them 'Give it a go' but not so much that they are put off by thinking that they are sucking on something that should be in Dr Who's pocket.
People who go to a pub have their money to get drinks and dont want to spend it on other stuff if they dont want to. If your pub has an outside smoking area, then a few posters up out there saying that you can vape inside and they are available at the bar will make people think about it, particularly with the wintry weather we are having atm. I would also suggest that a few laminated pages of the available items, and cards to take away to look up on the website. (You might be able to get that free from someone who wants advertising, so that they provide the cards to give away)
Definatly a good idea to have a supply of commonly used batteries, as people would not mind paying out for that as it can be reused.

Cheers bd, The package we are putting together is mainly based on attracting pub going smokers to vaping, so the disposables, cig-a-likes, info posters/leaflets are all in hand The purpose of this thread is to see what existing vapers would like to see in their local ecig shop if it was just around the corner. Obviously, the pubs cannot stock all the products that our VIP partners stock, but there must be some products that would be useful in the case of an emergency. At CAM-VIP, we are trying to promote ecigs to a wider audience, but we need the help of existing vapers to get behind our initiatives to make them a success Russell

Well I see the eGo series would fit nicely into that concept... 900mAh should last a bar night nicely.. If you get em in bulk that would be under 10$/piece.. then a MDCC carto filled to go with it So small kit's that have *charger (few bucks) *MDCC filled (that's ~4ml in reality) *1x eGo battery 900mAh those you can get done cheaply enough to get people interested E: NOEH! No disposables.. You just get people annoyed on the vaping "this doesn't work, give me a fag".. Seen that happen tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many times

I don't often go to the pub, but, if I was short of some vaping supplies and I knew I could pick them up in a local pub, I would pop in for a drink I have 2 people at the moment who are seriously thinking about converting, they've tried vaping and think it can work for them. The thing that's holding them back is lack of local suppliers, not everyone is comfortable buying on the net! I think having vaping supplies in local pubs would be a win win situation for everyone

I'm a bit confused here. When you talk about 'emergency supplies' are you thinking about a vaper running out of something whilst at the pub, or being able to pop out to a bricks-and-mortar shop-in-a-pub for essential supplies?

The latter onedayillquit - we are hoping to work with some of our vape friendly pubs to get them to stock some essentials as well as catering for the smokers who fancy giving ecigs a go. The first pub we are trialling it at, will be my local The Anglers Rest in South Yorkshire. If the trial works, we hope to roll it out Nationwide - meaning that there will be more bricks-and-mortar places to get our supplies from Russell

Fingers crossed that the trial at your local will work Russell as I think it's a brilliant idea #fingers#

Sorry, but this seems crazy. Yes if you want people to try e-cigs, then stock some look a likes, but to hold stocks in case someone needs something...... if you need to fill a carto, it takes time. If you're above the cig a like, the possibilities are endless, will you envisage stocking charged batteries (which ones), juice? Crazy. Stick to disposables, which will be the default if anything goes wrong and you should be OK.
My local LL would laugh you out of the pub if you approached him asking to stock a wide range of vaping supplies. People bring their own with them for a night out.
Maybe a generic juice, but even then I'm sure it wouldn't work, prefilled cartos might work to an extent, but I wouldn't want to be vaping them and would make sure I had enough before I left home.

I did get the wrong end of the stick there. The ego series appears to be the most popular one out there and if that is what is selling then that is what people would want to get supplies of.
It is a great idea all round
