I stayed up to when Paul McCartney started to sing
Have to go and make a cuppa when it went to David Beckham in that speedboat, dont know what it is about him but I cannot stand him and seeing him with that stupid grin, I really felt like throwing something at the TV
Most of it was very surreal and quirky, but I think it will be remembered for a long time

I have to say I loved every minute of it (apart from the endless parade of athletes all chewing gum with their mouths open). So much so I watched the whole thing again today on iplayer. Absolutely gobsmacking IMO

If it's on iplayer I'll watch it again to look for Mr. Bean! How far in is it oneday, near the beginning or further? It must be fairly near the beginning as I missed most of that, tuned in when the parades started unfortunately, but kept flipping back to the forum! The cauldron was amazing! Paul McCartney wasn't. Lol.

The cauldron was spectacular I keep replaying the lighting of it. For some reason it makes me very emotional, it may in part be because I knew my sister was at the opening last night and I was feeling very proud of her, also a teeny bit envious (she is one of the volunteer cardiac nurses)

I agree the cauldron was amanzing......... and it was a a brilliant touch to have the young athletes lighting the torch instead of one particular "star" lighting it. Did anyone notice the dear old D o E snoozing, wonder if the Queen had to nudge him at times

Daniel Craig is not Bond in my view!! Oh, I dunno. The Connery and Craig Bonds both have the essentially trained thug in a dinner jacket approach to life. There is a rawness about Bond that Moore, Dalton, Brosnan failed to capture. Lazenby wasn't actually too bad it, pity he crashed and burned elsewhere.
