Hi, I want to build a mains operated mod. I have a LM2596 with LED display. I was thinking of de-soldering and removing the +/- input and output connections and soldering my wires straight to the board. Mainly because they are massive and this will slim the board down and make it surface mountable. I currently(no pun intended) have a choice of 20 transformers. I've checked the data sheet and it will handle upto 40v and it says it has a 3 amp limit. How many amps do I need to vape? I had my eye on a transformer thats output was 15v 2.5amp, is this suitable? I was just getting my head around the volt/watt relationship, now amps are playing with my brain. Also I am thinking of replacing the potentimeter, so I can locate it on the side of the device. What size pot would I need? I am sorry if these questions have already been asked, I couldn't find them.
Cheers,
Phil.

Phil The second link points to, i think, the organisers, no time to read it properly but seems like its some kind of co-op of business owners, might be worth contacting in new year, you never know one thing can lead to another. MP Perseverence works seem like a great organisation, but they are only reporting on local events. The event was organised by Vype, owned by BAT. Just a publicity stunt to promote their product to young clubbers.

Do you think they make these things on whim? When warehouses all over china fill up with this tat, they send it back to the factory to be remade into next generation crap. I think Innokins design team has had something slipped in their tea with the new Grenade. I noticed the other day myepack had new MVP designs that look like they've been made by toddlers. I shall keep my fingers crossed that some of it makes its way to my local pound shops.

One of the pubs in my village has a similar sign NIce to know! Just checked the site of the sponsors. Very informative for a newbie, but £55 for a MVP, £100 for evic. Steep!

People wouldn't imagine you were doing something as innocent as vaping, with either of them in your mouth. I'd expect to get sectioned!

I can't get through to that sitevon my mobile, just redirects me to a simplified page. I think it refers to "Vypesocial", a pop-up vape bar that was only open in November. It was aimed at 20-30's, with speed dating nights etc. To market cig-u-likes. The staff in there hadn't seen anything like a MVP before. They wouldn't of hosted us unless we promised to use Vypes, I did consider it for the last meet, but it was a definite no-no. It was on Great Eastern Street, but has gone now. There must be another one though.

Alan Had a little look at local today, but cannot see anything useful, and Hackney is a bit restricted travel for those from out of town (as well as its reputation, which is not so grim these days). Anyway during my searching I came up with page below, thought city might be good bet as its quiet Saturdays (more west city than east as that gets the hoxton/shoreditch trendy thing now). i'll try and look a bit closer, but times not going to be on my side this week, if anyone else wants a look please do, all these venues are a bus ride away from me, so no problem having a look at any in new year. (and of course i'll test the beer and wine for anyone just email me for my paypal details lol) www.citypublife.co.uk/frec.htmRegards MP Hi Mart, This is part of the "pub and bar network" that has come up with the Tattershall Castle and the Prince of Wales Feathers. I think Alan is using it to scout for a Jan venue. The City may be a good bet on Saturdays as it's quiet at the weekend.

Well done! I am only at 4 1/2 months after 33 years smoking. I tried all them methods and didn't ever stay off for a week. Keep up the good work.

Blownupdolly I shall have another look and see about the locations near me Ok... curiosity got the better of me so have been for a squizz online. Good to see some spread from the capital even if these maker spaces are in their infancy. I notice the London Hack Space has also moved location earlier this year so with any luck it will be even better! It was very very well equipped and resourced when i last visited. The new Hackney Road site has four times the floor space of the previous site. This has allowed them to seperate the wood/metal working into the basement. With the electronics, laser cutter, 3D printer, computers, craft and classroom on the ground floor. It will be good to have Dr Remnant in the house, what more inspiration could any man want!

I also visited the London hackspace with a view to joining as i used to regularly commute through london and go right past it. Now living further out and not being in the job i was means it was no longer viable. It looks like a great place to learn new skills and access equipment & knowledge not usually available to most mere mortals. Highly recommended place! (even if i am slightly jealous i can no longer get there easily) I have been looking at their website chainmaker they have a place in Chelmsford and Colchester. I fear I have unleashed a beast. seniorphil My husband is very interested in going too, after reading your recommendation. God knows what he will be doing, but he's one of these blokes who likes to fiddle about with stuff. Hi, It's strangely inspirational at Hackspace. I am the only one in London making ecigs, but everybody else is working on such am ecclectic mix of projects. Everybody inspires each other. I am now working on stuff with no connection to mods. It might be the homebrew beer that lubricates our minds.

Cheers Karma, I shall be there for opening time. I hope it's not going to be like the tv sale at Asda, when the went to war to fight for their rights to a cheap tv. They don't get out of bed to protest at their civil liberties being taken from them. Yet a bargain provokes a riot. I don't think a ultra sonic cleaner will have the same appeal.
