csmith10 Hello and welcome to AAEC ... good to have you on board. 5 days from a coil is not unusual depending on how much eliquid you vape and what eliquid you are using ... custard and some tobacco flavours are renowned coil gunkers. The wire that you refer is actualy 0.18mm and 0.25 mm diameter. I would advise 4 or 5 wraps of 0.2mm kanthal wire around a 2mm silica wick for a normal coil around 1.8 ohms resistance or 9 or 10 wraps of 0.25mm kanthal wire for a microcoil with cotton wool wick. Hi Thanks for the reply, what's the difference between a normal and micro coil? I've got both the 0.18mm and 0.25mm plus silica wick on order. Cheers

Hi I'm currently having problems with my Kanger evod. I have the evod starter kit and both the standard 65mah and an 1100mah battery and vaping dekang juices. The issue I'm having is I'm going through coils ever 5 days or so. I first had an issue a couple of weeks ago when I swapped my 650 for the 1100 and after I got a horrible metallic taste after a couple of puffs, swapped out the coil and all was fine. I'm now finding that I need to dismantle and clean my coil every day or the quality and quantity of my vape goes down significantly! Being mechanically minded I've decided to start rebuilding my coils but I've seen a couple of tutorials. One advises 1.8mm wire with 4 turns and the other 2.5mm with 11 turns! So I guess my questions are, why am I getting these issues with my kanger coils and when I start rebuilding is it better to go with thinner wire with less turns or thicker with more turns? Would a coil with more turns be more durable?
Sorry for all the questions!
Cheers
