All over my head as usual, look me moneys gone now and it's going to arrive regardless, now I know it can't burn out my ecu but can it be used in the car then ?

I think Des is saying dont do something stupid like put low res stuff on it at high voltage as it`ll draw too much power from the usb port and stress the motherboard/psu. Im using a vivi nova with a 2.8 ohm coil @4.2v (1.5amps), nothing weird so far.

If you think that some batteries are damaged if you use LR stuff on it, the same could happen to the motherboard on your pc/laptop.

From what Ive been reading you can use wall adaptors or car adaptors if you are concerned about passthroughs in general. Bear in mind that any usb device could fry your motherboard if its iffy.

most modern usb ports carry protection, I've often played about with USB devices to the point of shorting them out, and have never yet killed a laptop or PC .........yet

You can always buy a USB Hub, if you're at all concerned about your PC . . . this is the one many of us on the forum have purchased.

Although there's something wrong with the price right now!

I charge my batteries in my laptop, hubby is happy with that, he is I.T too. So if anything should hapen he will provide another from some cupboard upstairs somewhere I'm sure.
I just wasn't sure with this passthrough.
Also I'm happy to just use SR heads/atties whatever so hopefully it will be ok.
Buying a hub would defeat the idea of carrying a laptop to the living room and having it on my lap.
Always good to hear all sides though, easier to make an informed decision, now I can t least tell hubby what I am putting on it thanks to Des.

i have personally tested this with both low and standard res cartos on a laptop and so far so good
i will request technical detail from the manufacturer and update the site accordingly once info received
