I see..Thanks..
So long as they adopt a transparent and scientific method of testing, which can be duplicated elsewhere, and publish the results , I don't see any problem with it as such.

A waste of space as far as I am concerned, just another quasi quango to make money from small independent Mod makers, you wont see China putting their stuff in to be tested, and it looks like a Rolygate baby Just my 2 centavos folks

I guess the small mod makers may use it as a selling point if they can manage to get their mods through..I don't see the Chinese putting in stuff for tested for certification there either, in the near future at least. It also looks like many users don't care and that user base will pay no heed, till one day they get their teeth blown off..
E-cigs have a user base growing at an exponential rate and big tobacco industries are getting in on the act with the Governments being held at bay, claiming self-regulation, so a standards board adds some weight to that argument, I guess.
Anyway does not look like it is set up yet, to see how effective it is.

I think a step in the right direction. So long as its transparent, consistent, and has proper testing that simply can't be applied for in writing or by way of payment.

It would be interesting if they listed what is required in a Mod to get 5 stars. Reading Rolygates thread on ECF - it isn't vent holes. Is it a top hot spring on the positive connection? As an ill informed consumer what are the 2 mods that have gone bang? transparency would be nice, but it really is buyer beware in the E cig mod market
