Lavatube 2.1 chrome 18650 problem

My lavatube has a really annoying thing where the centre post keeps trying to disappear and i have to pull it up for it to fire my carto, also depending how much i screw it in the ohm will go from 3.0 right down to 1.3 then i get the lo error. I dont mind the fact that the buttons have started to go black but its annoying me about the centre post. Anyone else having this problem

Hi Davie. I have a mini V1 LT and haven't had a centre post issue with it. Is it one particular carto that's pushing it down? If not, you might be over-tightening? Just enough to make contact is all that's needed

Its doing it with everything i put on it. Even when i put a good 510 to 510 adapter on it..
I never put them on way to tight. I put them on until u feel resistance then that's it, i never over tighten.
All the carts work fine on my old v1 and i have never had a problem with that.

Hi Davie, I had the exact same problem.

Mine got to the point where it wouldn't work at all.

What I did was pull out the centre pin completely, it's only really held there by a thick wire, just don't pull to hard .

I then wrapped it in a load of PTFE tape and rammed it back in the whole.

To my suprise it worked a treat and never had a problem with it again.

I believe the root cause is the little rubber bung gets juice on it which then creates suction with the base and it eventaully gets pushed too far away from the centre pin to prevent a short with the case.

If that needs explaining in more detail I may be able to get some pictures.

yeah, I went two days cold turkey and said to my-self "screw it, I can fix this".

I will post some pics of my "fix" when I get home, I'll have to pull it apart again but bit the bullet and bought a provari so it's all good.

While you wait for the pics you are gunna need to find some tape, I used PTFE tape as it's not sticky and makes a good seal. But electrical tape will probably do.

[EDIT] A plumber would have some PTFE tape if you have a friend who is a plumber

I was just about to post I have the same problem but thought I should do a search 1st. I cut up a condom and made a spacer with it and it's working, I think I need to find the PTFE as I know my Penny is going to go leak-mental at any point now.
